RNO Roundtable: Who Should Win the Survivor Viewers’ Choice Million?by RealityNewsOnline Staff -- 05/11/2004
View Printable version of this article As we all know from watching the Survivor: All-Stars finale and reunion, the million dollars given to Amber for winning is not the only prize this time around. The viewers get to vote for their choice out of the All-Stars for another million dollars. The voting will close soon, but many of the writers of RealityNewsOnline wanted to present their cases on why you should vote for specific people. We urge you to read each of them and then come to your decision in voting: Sting7: I stand before you to make the case for Rob Mariano. The Robfather. Yes, him. The name of the game is Survivor, not Let's Be Buddies And Hope Someone Wins. Rob dominated this game. It was his game from the moment he landed on shore and had the wherewithal to make nicey-nice with Amber, who he didn't even like at the time. Rob played hard; he did what he had to do, eschewed the players who didn't figure into his plans, eliminated threats, dealt with the crises, won immunity when it counted, and won a car for his girl. He played this game as hard and as well as anyone has ever played it. So what, the jury is mad him. They should have played better. Would you let Bucky Bo date your daughter? I rest my case. Amber won a million because she chose the right coattail to ride. Rob did the work. Rob made the season. Rob deserves the million because he outplayed, outwitted, outlasted all but his girlfriend. He took all the bullets for the dastardly deeds she helped invent. Give Rob the million. It's the right thing to do. Jeffrey Clinard: I have to say, picking an All-Star to win $1,000,000 isn't easy. Deserving people include Rob C. and Kathy, both of whom played extremely good games in their respective individual games. However, I'm going to have to select the Survivor: All-Star who followed my advice articles all the way to the bitter end. That person is Shii Ann. Shii Ann played a great game from the start, initially working with the powerful women in Mogo Mogo, then staying out of the firefights between the alpha males in that tribe. While Colby couldn't respect her play, she was still standing when his torch went cold. After the merge, when her entire tribe had their backs against the wall, she ducked the first two votes, and pulled off an amazing immunity win to force a premature crack in the dominant alliance. She did her best to leverage the crack into a new position for her in the tribe, first the nice way, then by trying to firebomb everybody's position during tribal council. For her play in this game, I'm honoring her by writing her name down at the audience tribal council. Jason Borelli: I'm not giving Amber another million bucks. While pleading his case on CBS.com, Rob went on about how we can make his dreams come true. The man won a new car, the cash for second prize, and he gained a fiancé – and he wants more? And I have issues with Jenna, Rupert, and Tom. So my primary pick is Shii Ann, whom I've liked since Survivor: Thailand. While some people took issue with the eye-rolling and her immunity celebration, I feel that she played the game as best as she could, given the circumstances. And the clincher came at the final Tribal Council, where she not only asked intelligent questions to Rob and Amber, but also took a swipe at the crybabies on the jury. I know she got a car from Amber, but come on. Shii Ann lives in New York, which isn't car-friendly, so her prize isn't much of a prize. If you have issues with Shii Ann, I recommend voting for Rob Cesternino. I feel bad that he was the only member of the Chapera group to be voted out prior to the merge. Adding insult to injury, Jeff Probst ignored him at the reunion. Most of the season was unbearable for me to watch, and had Rob been in there, things might have been better. Besides, he got rooked out of the big prize last year, when Jenna Morasca voted him out on Day 38 in the Amazon. Rob played his season every bit as good as that other Rob did this season. So show some love, and vote for Rob C. and Shii Ann. View Printable version of this article |
