For Love or Money 3, Episode 4: Twister, Anyone?

by Sting7 -- 07/01/2004
Preston said goodbye to his chance at a million dollars. Or has he? The rules have changed again! Rebekah and PJ say they aren't in it for the money, but a little tarnish is starting to form on one of their halos. And, there is more. Two women are going home this time! Will either of the "good girls" survive?

Preston Emerson's search for love his come down to four lovely ladies; Rachel the evil, PJ the pure, Rebekah the cutie-pie, and Andrea the party girl. The girls with checks worth a million have all been dismissed. Seems like Preston has legitimate feelings for all of the women left.

Question is, do all of the women feel as sincerely as Pres? If Preston can convince the women to choose him over the value of their checks (which only PJ and Andrea know, and Andrea had to give up half the value to find out!), he gets the dough (or the woman, not both). If the women can convince to keep them 'til the end, they get the same choice. How much money are we talking about?

The ladies who remain, and the value of their checks (unbeknownst to them) are as follows:

  • Rachel ($1)
  • PJ ($50,000)
  • Rebekah ($1)
  • Andrea (now $250,000)

Morning arrives and the ladies are debating over the value of their checks. PJ and Andrea already know, but Rachel and Rebekah (both checks worth $1) have their own theories. Rachel is sure she was stuck with a $1 check (correct), Rebekah thinks she has a $50,000 check (not correct). None of that will matter in a few seconds.

Because, the ladies are stashed in a room with their portraits and checks. And, you know what that means… Jordan! Jordan ghoulishly greets the ladies with a good morning. He congratulates them on how far they have come in the game, but he is about to change the rules. He tells that he can't say how much their checks are worth, but he can say how much they aren't worth. One million dollars. Those ladies (and checks) are all gone!

However, he continues, as he makes his way to cabinet and opens it, revealing four more checks, the ladies have a chance to change that. In the cabinet are two $1 checks and two $1 million dollar checks. The ladies now must decide if they want to swap out their checks for a chance at getting a million dollar one with a Mystery Check. To us, Rachel says this is huge! Rebekah says she's not sure she should swap for a Mystery Check because Preston may get the idea that its only money she's after.

One by one, the ladies must announce their decision:

Rachel can't wait to grab a Mystery Check! She grabs the upper left corner check with a little bit of hesitation. Jordan instructs her to stick her former check under the purple light, and sure enough, it's for $1. Rachel guffaws and says, "Oh, good!" as Andrea sneers at her. "I'm so relieved!" Rachel sighs.

"I'm so annoyed!" Andrea barks to us, "This means Preston must actually like her!" That's my take!

Andrea decides to swap checks. Rachel's eyes consume her face, "she's a royal idiot!" she says to us. How could Andrea throw away $250,000 on this kind of gamble? That's my question too! Of course, Andrea already knew the value of her check, so no purple light drama.

PJ swaps her check (she had $50,000, but that's chicken change-- yeah, right!). She tells us she chose the top right check because that's the one she took before. I guess there's some pigeon logic in that.

Rebekah swaps her check (probably because everyone else did), but she tells us she's not in it for the money so it doesn't matter to her (may have been the right call!).

Jordan notes the ladies have "brought the mystery back to the game" and hurls another curve ball. One more surprise, he says, as we see Preston entering the house!

Jordan invites Pres into the room and tells Preston that the girls have known that he knew the value of their checks for quite some time now. He takes that news okay. Jordan then tells him that the girls had a chance to redraw checks, and they all accepted. The smile almost audibly falls from Preston's face. PJ notes he did not look happy about this particular little turn. Jordan throws some salt in the wound adding, "The advantage you had playing this game is gone!"

Preston jumps from his seat and backhands Jordan, exposing a fang! Not really. One can hope. In reality, Preston barely has time to digest this bit of news before Jordan gleefully (as much as he can muster) announces that Rachel and Rebekah will be joining Preston on a fantasy date to Cabo San Lucas!

Rachel says, fantasy date with two girls? Wha--? Rebekah also says that two girls with one guy on a date is not a fantasy she's ever had! In the limo ride to the airport, Rachel takes the opportunity to challenge whether Preston is really being truthful. She cites that she told him she didn't drink and he said he didn't either. But, she finds out he's been drinking champagne with other girls on their dates! You bastard! Rebekah says Rachel was truly getting on her nerves.
