Big Brother 5, August 20 Live Feeds: Who Trusts Who?by Jeffrey Clinard -- 08/21/2004
View Printable version of this article Good Morning Houseguests! Well, it's actually a very LATE good morning - it's around 11:00 a.m. before the houseguests really start to drag themselves out of bed. I don't know if we can really call it breakfast - it's noon by the time they start eating. Marvin, now off of PB&J, goes for chips and Sprite. Outside, Karen, Nakomis, and Diane plot out longer-term strategy - they think they need to get HOH next week. Nakomis goes over her nomination speech, and confirms to Diane that she voted out Will. Nakomis plans to throw the last vote in Natalie's face if she brings it up at the nomination meeting. Inside, the twins aren't very happy. They realize one of them is likely to be gone this week, though they note they made it to the second table (the Big Brother main table gets replaced several times during the season, diminishing in size just as the number of houseguests diminishes). They decide Diane can't be trusted, and decide there is no point in talking to Nakomis about the nominations. They note that Will wasn't with them for the girl's alliance pinky-swear. [Assistant Editor's Note: Yes, he was, as they showed in Thursday's episode.] Despite their conversation, Adria does go to talk to Nakomis, saying she knows she's going to go up, and is OK with it. She just asks her not to do to her what they did to Jase. Nakomis says that was just for Jase. I might note, the only reason they could pull it off was because they had the numbers to do it then. I wouldn't count on them having the numbers right now. She claims not to know what made her evict Will. Nakomis states that Big Brother is just a game, and nothing is personal. Adria says she won't be a bad sport, and Nakomis tells her there are no hard feelings. While on outside lockdown, the twins regroup and talk about playing against the odds. They also do laundry while the others play cards. Finally, it's fish tanks until the nominations are over. For constant readers, it shouldn't be a surprise - Adria and Natalie are on the block this week. Marvin and Michael immediately start discussing the pros and cons of each twin; trying to decide who to vote out. Michael likes both of them; Marvin seems to like Adria better (writer's note: She did have the power to kick him out a few days ago and didn't - of course, she put him up in the first place). Nakomis eventually joins them, and says she wants to do a new voiceover for her nomination speech. Apparently she blanked out on all her reasons to put up the twins (I'll give the most important ones: the twins are a power, and they aren't in her corner). She gives herself a 0 for the speech - but Michael would give her a 10. They talk about how foreigners often speak English better than some Americans. Michael thinks Spanish would be hard to learn. Nakomis says that once you can speak Spanish, you can do Italian. Michael thinks Italian is like Spanish. I'm unclear as to whether they think the languages are similar, or if the mechanics of speaking it are similar. Personally, I can think of a half-dozen different languages I'd have a harder problem with, such as Japanese and Arabic. Diane talks to Natalie, telling them she didn't tell Nakomis to put either of them up, then goes on to say Marvin bashes them every chance he gets. Adria thinks Marvin is smart and is playing the game. Diane claims to be on her own right now - she's on her own, and expects to be evicted next week. Adria talks about how Will said he didn't want the veto when she offered it to him. Diane says that she knows Michael is close to the twins - but she doesn't care for him. Karen joins them, and the topic goes around to communication - they don't think there is much of it going on. The four women note that when somebody says something, it often goes around the house and gets distorted with each telling. Natalie says that if Will had kept his mouth shut last week, he would still be in the house. Diane and Karen talk afterwards, with Karen saying the twins speak too rapidly for her. She warns Diane not to let the twins bully her. Diane says the twins are trying to save themselves now, and Karen thinks they are irritating. Diane repeats that she doesn't like Michael, and Karen responds that he feels guilty because his sister is HOH. Diane asks Big Brother for some beer - it will provide drama. Nakomis decides to talk to the twins, saying she doesn't think she made it clear why they were nominated. She basically goes on about how the twins broke the promise, and talks about what Will told her. Natalie says it was a girl's alliance - and Will isn't a girl. She also notes that Adria tried to veto him, but he didn't want it. Nakomis says she had to act the way she said she would act, and doesn't want any drama. Nakomis finally leaves, and the twins laugh together. They think Nakomis is nuts. Nakomis immediately goes on to create drama by repeating the whole conversation to Karen. She also says they can't talk too often or people will think they are in an alliance, and says she can't stand talking to the twins. Michael, Drew, and the twins talk in the kitchen, taking some photos, and having some fun. Michael apparently thinks he looks like John Travolta, then switches to David Swimmer, then they start talking about the TV show Friends. Karen shows up, and tells the twins she still hasn't had her period. She goes off to the diary room to ask Big Brother for a home pregnancy test. 1 2 Next-->View Printable version of this article |
