Last Comic Standing 3, Episode 3: Rocking the Micby Dale Sherman, with Mike DeGeorge -- 09/08/04
View Printable version of this article Another week of LCS means another review here at RNO. First, however, we've been asked by Ralphie May to post his father's obituary, and in respect to Ralphie and his family, it appears below: Winston May, age 70, died August 29, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. Winston was born in Delight, Arkansas, graduated from the University of Arkansas and was an avid "Razorback" fan. He was a member of the Roswell United Methodist Church and a member of the Shrine Temple in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Thank you, Ralphie, for giving us the privilege of passing on this information to readers. Quick note for fans of LCS2: Mike's interview with Alonzo Bodden went up yesterday and you can read his thoughts on his career, his take on LCS, and his first visit to the Friars Club after gaining a membership. Don't forget to check out Mike's interview with ANT that went up last week (with a lot of great details), as well as his interview with Jay London from the previous week. More interviews are on the way, and we'll keep you up to date here each week when a new one becomes available. Episode Three begins with a short recap of what has happened so far on the show. Afterwards, the stage is revealed with the nine remaining LCS1 comics on stage left - looking somewhat happier than when last we saw them - and the nine remaining LCS2 comics on stage right. Jay then enters the stage to go over some of the rules for the episode as well as announce which of the two teams won the most votes. It is LCS2 once again, and the comics are so ecstatic that they cheer, yell, hug, and -- Hey! Watch the hands there, Todd! Picking up Kathleen was one thing, but it appears that the excitement was too much for Todd there from where his hands were at the time he picked her up. Jay then announces that one member from each team will be leaving the show due to having the least votes. The two will be announced at the end of the show, but in order to build up some suspense, two comics will be pulled from each team. One of the two will be leaving, while the other will be staying. Jay then begins with the LCS2 team and announces Kathleen and Corey as the two who will have to wait until the end of the show to find out who will be leaving. As for the LCS1 team, Jay announces Sean and Tere. With that foreshadowing, Jay then has the teams go to their respective war-rooms. They will be picking teams of four that will go into the stand-up competition tonight, but there's a slight twist. Instead of picking comics from the other team to go up against, as they did in Episode Two, they will instead have to pick four member of their own team to go up. The LCS1 team is a little worried, as there's a 1 in 4 chance of having to leave if they are picked. In fact, Rich is so deep in thought about strategies and being down about their chances that someone finally asks, "Rich, is this supposed to be a pep-talk?" As LCS2 has their cheerleader, Todd, motivate them, everyone in the LCS1 war-room puts their hands together as Rich announces, "To another $50,000 we're not gonna win!" With that, Tess and Alonzo come out to join Jay with their picks for the stand-up competition. Alonzo announces Tammy, Gary, Jay London, and himself as LCS2's team. Tess announces Rich, Rob, Ralphie (who shouts "I'm back!" as he enters the stage), and herself for the LCS1 team. The two teams leave the stage, while Jay announces that each comic will be giving two and a half minutes to perform. With no break in the action, Jay then introduces Alonzo. 1 2 3 Next-->View Printable version of this article |
