Big Brother 5, September 9: BackdooredPage 3View Printable version of this article With Julie Chen, a tearful Karen says she knew it was coming, but is still upset. Karen says she left Adria on the block because she broke the promise to the group, and see what happens. She could tell by the way Drew and Diane were acting that they were not being truthful, but she didn't have the physical or emotional strength to deal with it. But maybe it's for the best. Julie says that Karen didn't have the commitment to Diane, so does she blame her for voting for her? The problem is, the previous veto Diane promised she wouldn't take herself off, and did. The bold-faced lie caused her not to trust Diane. But she's had enough. She hopes she didn't embarrass her family. They watch the goodbye messages. Nakomis says that if she's watching this, she was backstabbed. Cowboy thinks she's a great person. Drew loves her, but it's strictly a game decision. Diane says please don't be upset, it was a strategic move because Nakomis and Karen would put her out over each other. Karen says it's true, because Nakomis has never lied. She would rather take someone who is honest to the end and have to fight for victory than a liar that would help her win. I'm getting misty! Can a brother get a minute? This week's Head of Household competition is a similar in theme to past competitions. They are standing in a big bullseye split in three sections like a pie, with walls in between them. Each houseguest is standing in the middle ring, with the bullseye saying "before" and the outer ring saying "after." This week's competition is called Before or After. They have to determine if an event happened before or after another event. Each correct answer is worth one point, there are eight questions, the person with the most points after eight wins. Was Mike nominated Before or After he helped fill the glass in the Margarita Madness competition? After. Drew and Cowboy get it right. Did Marvin toss burgers during Burger Bonanza Before or After almost tossing his cookies in the Blenderlicious food competition? Before, and all three get it right. Was the hot tub unlocked Before or After Lori got covered in mud in the treadmill HOH? After. All get it right again. Was the Twin Twist revealed Before or After Scott was evicted? After. Immediately after, actually. All three get it right again. Was Natalie evicted Before or After the chemical reaction competition? Before. All three again! Did Michael announce that Nakomis is his sister Before or After being nominated for eviction? Before. Drew and Cowboy get it right. Diane is now two points behind, she needs to get both questions right and both the others get theirs wrong to tie Drew. Did Marvin replace Jase on block Before or After Jase replaced Diane? Before, because Jase was evicted when he replaced Diane! Drew is the only one who gets it right, and has now clinched the competition. Were Will's balloons busted Before or After his piggy bank was busted? After, and all three get it right, not that it matters. Drew is the new Head of Household, for the third time. Poor Cowboy! Unless Drew is a fool, he will nominate Diane and Nakomis, there's no way in hell he should trust Diane to make that eviction vote! You really can't trust anyone, but if there's anyone you can trust in this game, it's Cowboy. Drew is now guaranteed spot in final three. Julie asks how he feels? Overjoyed, nervous, and he hopes he has a week in the HoH room this time. Don't be so sure, says Julie! Just kidding. I think she stopped Cowboy's heart! Diane, what has the hardest part of the house been? This last eviction. I can hear Nakomis rolling her eyes from here. It will be interesting to see, assuming Nakomis is next out the door, to see how the final eviction goes. We know that if Cowboy wins, he will take Drew with him to the finals. His word has always been ironclad, and there's no reason to doubt it now. Diane, similarly, will probably take Drew with her because she has to know that, while she has next to no chance of winning, she has a better chance against Drew. But what would Drew do? Will he honor his commitment with Cowboy, recently reaffirmed, which might cost him the win? Or will he choose Diane and an almost guaranteed victory? These houseguests are cursed to live in interesting times. Mike DeGeorge is an Accountant from St. Louis and Assistant Editor of RealityNewsOnline. Email Mike at mikmaria@charter.net.
