Last Comic Standing 3: Right Show, Different Channelby Dale Sherman -- 10/09/04
View Printable version of this article We have received word Friday evening about new developments in what will be happening with the finale of Last Comic Standing 3. As many of our readers know now, NBC has changed their mind about the cancellation of the series and had given the show a go-ahead to do a half-hour finale. We also posted yesterday that there was still some concern as to where the finale would air - possibly not even on NBC, but rather on Comedy Central or BRAVO. We have received word today from Jay Mohr, and he has posted on his website as well, that the finale will not be appearing on NBC after all. Instead, the episode will be shown on Comedy Central. On the upside, the episode will be a full-hour instead of the previously mentioned half-hour episode. On the downside, no one seems to know when it will air. Currently, the NBC official site for the program has gone back to displaying a banner stating that the winner will be announced during the Father of the Pride marathon on Tuesday. This banner had been taken down on October 7 when word was received about the half-hour edition of the finale. While Comedy Central has nothing listed on their official site yet as to their schedule for next Tuesday, one would have to assume that Comedy Central plans on airing the full episode on or around the same time NBC announces the winner in a brief segment during the Father of the Pride special. We'll have to wait and see, however. In all of this, viewers should be thankful that NBC did not go through with one idea - that the prize money be presented by none other than Anna Nicole Smith herself. That is just a reminder that, no matter how bad things seem, they could always be worse. As always, more details as they develop.
