"The Judges and I Had a Lot of Mixed Communication" - An Interview with America's Next Top Model's Jennipher

by Phil Kural -- 10/25/2004
Jennipher didn't quite make it to the halfway point of the competition, but she did manage to stir things up for the time that she was still in the running to become America's Next Top Model. Find out what she had to say about the whole experience right here.

One thing must be said, and that would be that Jennipher has spunk. Even in my interview with her, she showed the personality that the judges were begging her to show in her photos. Find out what she thought about the cattiness from some of the girls, if her dreams of moving form Idaho are still in the future, and just how was able to write so legibly on her butt!

RNO: I know the judges kept saying that it looked like you didn't want to be there, so I have to ask you now, do you really want to be here doing this interview?

Jennipher: Haha, I guess not! Well, at least not this early, but that's how it goes!

RNO: Did you ever feel that being a small town girl would hinder you in this competition, since you didn't have as much "worldliness" as the other girls, and especially since all the judges kept bringing it up?

Jennipher:Yes, I do think it hindered me a little, but not to the point where it was a factor in why I was eliminated. Just for the fact that I didn't get out as much as some of the other girls, so yeah, maybe it hindered me a little.

RNO: Were you starting to feel like all the judges were against you after Kristi was sent home?

Jennipher: Yes, I do think they were a little against me. It felt like I was being constantly harped on for every little thing. Honestly, I think the absolute best I could have done was not good enough.

RNO: Before Kristi was eliminated, and the two of you were standing before the judges, did you think you were the one that was going to be sent home?

Jennipher: No, I pretty much knew it wasn't my time at that point. I was crying because I was pissed off and had no idea why I was standing there with Kristi, except for the fact that I wrote ANTM on my behind. Kristi knew it was going to be her.

RNO: Since we're on the topic, how exactly were you able to write ANTM across your butt so legibly?

Jennipher: Haha! I actually had some help from Yaya. It was supposed to be a joke because the judges kept telling me to show some personality, so I wanted to do something funny since my butt was already hanging out of the dress. It didn't go over as I planned.

RNO: Back when I interviewed Leah, she told me to keep an eye on you because you were definitely one to shake things up. Was that your intention?

Jennipher: Probably. I mean, I knew I wasn't going to be catty, like some of the other girls, and I wanted to show some spunk and personality - I'm usually one to shake things up anyway!

RNO: After you had that little argument with Ann and Eva, did things ever blow over between the three of you?

Jennipher: Yeah, it blew over for the most part. Ann and I did have a talk, which never showed, and we squared everything away. As far as Eva, she kept her comments to herself and I kept mine to myself, and that's as far as I got with her.

RNO: Of the shoots you were able to participate in, which was your favorite and why?

Jennipher: That would definitely be the shot in Jamaica simply for the fact that I had never left the country, and it was a totally new experience that I hadn't even dreamed of. Plus, the shoot on the rocks and the background made the whole thing look gorgeous.
