America's Next Top Model 3, Episode 7: Everyone Has a Split Personality!

by Phil Kural -- 11/05/2004
This week, the final eight girls learn what it's like to be a "real life model" when they are sent out on four go-sees. Yaya (right) hits a homerun this week as she does well on each of her go-sees, while the judges praise her "alter ego" photo from this week's photo shoot. Things aren't looking up for everyone, though! Find out which model is cut this week.

Previously, Cassie talked about her obsession with her body, even going so far as to admit throwing up in the past. Norelle struggled on the runway, and even fell during the girl's first runway show. When Kelle failed to show that she was photogenic last week, she was sent home. Which girl is going home tonight? I can barely stand the suspense!

We begin this week watching the girls jump on their beds and having fun. Well, everyone except Cassie that is. She isn't having fun, and misses her family and boyfriend. She talks to her boyfriend on the phone and cries while telling him that she's not having a good time. He tries to comfort her, but instead, lets her vent. Smart move.

Toccara lies on the bed and expresses how much she loves her curves, saying that she's there to break the norm. You know the drill - same thing she says every week. However, she adds that, not only does she want to be high fashion, but she wants to be all over the place. Norelle tells the camera that she wishes she had the confidence that Toccara had. She's worried that she still has flab. Please, you weight like 50 pounds!

The phone rings and MY Yaya (Yes, MY Yaya) answers. Tyra is on the other line, and tells her to gather up the girls and meet her downtown. She tells Yaya to have them all bring heels and comfortable shoes. The girls meet up with Tyra who tells them that people don't know the girls exist yet, so it's time to send them out on go-sees.

The girls get their portfolios, and Eva is very excited. She loves her portfolio, but Ann says that her portfolio is one of the worst. She knows she was in the bottom two at the last elimination, but feels good about the go-sees because people always like her in person. She feels she's prettier in person as well. Tyra tells the girls that they will be judged on personality, walk, and physical traits. The winner will get a rack of clothes from each designer they will be visiting.

Nicole Miller is the first go-see. Ann tells her that she's not used to being in New York, but loves it. She gets into one of Nicole Miller's dresses and does her walk. We see shots of the other girls doing the walk as well, with Toccara making a comment that she loves Nicole's clothes because they fit her. Norelle feels that she isn't the most beautiful of the girls remaining, but hopes they see the potential in her.

Amanda is up next, and didn't remember her high heels. She borrows Norelles' which are a size and a half too small. They mess up her walk, and after the first go-see, Amanda runs to the store to buy some shoes, and Eva, Cassie, Ann and Toccara go along with her. Yaya says that this is a competition, and that she's not waiting, along with Nicole and Norelle, who go to the next go-see.

Ann says they were in the store for longer than 15 minutes, and when they get outside, their van is gone. They don't know where the next go-see is, so they run back into Nicole Miller and basically make a scene as they try to find out where they are going next. The five girls go running down the street, with all their shopping bags.

Yaya says that Nicole, Norelle, and she have waited for the other girls for almost a half hour, when they finally arrive. Nanette LePore is the go-see, and she is very upset that the girls that were late, and tells them that in this industry, they have to meet deadlines and respect them. Amanda talks to the designer and tries to take the blame, but feels that makes Nanette hate her even more. Nanette thinks that Amanda is too much like a hippie, while they feel Nicole almost has "it", Eva is striking, and Cassie is cute, Norelle looks better in her pictures and Ann needs to "come alive."

Yaya defends her time to Nanette, who tells her that she's aware of the girls that were there on time. They all love Yaya, and admire Toccara too since she is trying to break ground. Toccara does have some issues with the clothes, and says its frustrating.

Diane von Furstenberg is the next stop for the girls, and she has this odd obsession with making the girls twirl. She rushes to find a dress for Toccara, but worries they have nothing. Cynthia Bowley is up next, and she's not at all fond of Norelle or her walk. She seems to be a big fan of Yaya, Ann, and Eva though. Toccara works it hard, and says she is happy.

Finally, the girls go to their last go-see, with Mark Bouwer. Everyone is now tired, and it's beginning to show. He has each of the girls put on a long gown and try to walk. Everyone is having issues with it, and Ann has this little skimpy look going that Mark loves. He's a fan of Yaya too. Mark is concerned about Cassie and her hips, and then measures them and says they are too large for his taste. Cassie isn't happy that he told her that, and she doesn't have to model for him anyway. I do love Cassie!
