Manhunt Finale: The Last Shot

by Sting7 -- 12/02/2004
The finale is finally upon us! And, what would a finale be without a top ten reunion? What will happen when Kevin Peake reveals that he has been an inside judge from the start? Why does the prospect of a nude shot completely unnerve one of the finalists? Who will be America's Most Gorgeous Male Model? Jon Jonsson or Rob Williams (l-r)?

The three (really two) finalists arrive in New York City. It's Jon's first trip so he oohs and aahs at everything. Rob hasn't been in NYC in years, and tells us he would love to live there and work there. Jon is amazed by the fast pace of everything. Dude.

They stop by the famed Carnegie Deli, where the manager greets them with, "You are the models? Why can't I be on a calendar? Who's better looking, me or these guys?" You, says a female voice, clearly bucking for a raise. Manager gives them a good table and points out the signature sandwich, which happens to be being hefted by. It's a mountain of a sandwich! Ladies, nothing gets a guy going like a good looking sandwich! The boys order one each. Later, they are back in the limo, utterly wrecked and bloated.

They head off to the new hotel room where there are boxes waiting for each of them. It's their wardrobe for their next shoot. Rob says wait a minute, sensing something is up. He lifts the box, and instantly blushes. They take the lids off and yes, the boxes are empty! Except for a bracelet.

Jon is really unnerved by the idea of a nude photo shoot. Rob just wonders if he has to shave his balls. Jon tells us that he thinks Rob will really do well with this shoot, since he doesn't seem to mind being naked at all. "I don't want my wiener all over the f**kng internet!" Jon whines. Rob says Kevin and Jon can bow out now if they want to. Not a chance they say.

Bruce tells us that Kevin has been informed he has to reveal his mole nature, "People really don't like surprises!"

So, alone in a private dining room, Kevin, Rob, and Jon wonder why they are there. Suddenly, Maurice walks in! They greet him with a hug. Maurice says good news is I'm back, bad news is one of you is going home right now! The smiles quickly fade to shock. Maurice tells them to sit down. They do. Psych! (I would have killed him!) Rob looks like he was about to faint. Before they have time to fully digest that little stunt, in comes Hunter. Then Matt. It's a top ten reunion! Paulo, Kevin O, Jason, and Tate (who missed his flight because he confused his gate number with his seat number - why do I have no problem believing that?) follow.

Rob gets up to make a speech. He thanks all the guys for being so open to the gay guy. They all mean something to him. Jon gives a speech full of "likes" and "frigging awwwwesome." Kevin gets up and says he will be dropping out of the competition. Yeah right, somebody grins.

Kevin continues that the only thing they really know about him is his name. The men look at him like he has lost his mind. He continues that he's been a model for five years now, he represented the US in an international modeling convention and was second runner-up. Some of the guys are openly laughing, not believing a word of it. Others have their faces covered, and still more are watching slack-jawed and awed. Kevin says he has also been reporting his thoughts to the judges. Then he shows a brief videotape of some of his finer critiques. Loves Rob, homosexual metrosexual. Maurice is too cocky. (Maurice greets that with a "what the f**k?"). Jon is a good looking guy, but he's too short, and his teeth are definitely "jacked up." Jon slides his glance from Kevin to Rob, just dumbstruck. Kevin finishes his piece, saying good luck to the finalists and see you at the judging.

And, walks away.

"Shocked! I have never been so shocked in my life!" Rob squeals, then adds, "But, I really don't give a s**t because I went from the final three to the final two!" Nice math.

"That's some Academy Award s**t there!" Kevin O. sighs.

To us, Kevin P says he thinks Kevin O is upset with him. Kevin O says he feels betrayed, but Kevin P was really good at deceiving them. For whatever that's worth. Paulo says he didn't believe anything until he saw the tape. Kevin P says he noticed how Tate was looking at him with such scorn. Tate says he is extremely stunned, can't find the words to express how he feels.

At the hotel, Rob gets the last piece of Not-TyraMail. The nude shoot cometh. Jon instantly grabs his luggage. What are you doing? Rob asks. I'm not doing the shoot, Jon says, his jaw set firmly. No one is talking him out of it, he's thought about it all night, it just ain't gonna happen. Rob tells him not to pack, for Pete's sake, maybe they can compromise something. Rob points out how Marissa told them she wouldn't do a nude shoot once. Jon at least stops packing.

They head off in a cab to the shoot (in bathrobes, Jon is clearly dressed under his, Rob is not). Kevin P tells us that nude shoots are a tricky thing. You don't want to seem too willing because everyone will want you to pose nude and you really put yourself at risk. He says even he won't do a nude shoot with just anybody.
