The Entertainer: A Preview

Hollywood may be home to the search for the best pop star in the United States (American Idol). Nashville is the place to look for the next great country music star (Nashville Star). However, what kind of talent would the city of Las Vegas be looking for? What kind of act would fit in with a musical variety act in a major Las Vegas resort? The answer will be found on The Entertainer.

The Entertainer features some traditional talent types, such as singers and comics, but also showcases individual with more unusual brands of entertainment, such as stage magic, freestyle poetry, and a guy who imitates musical instruments using only his voice. Wayne Newton hosts the search for spot in his own Las Vegas show. Which of the hopefuls will pass the mental, physical, and creative challenges in order to make it on the Las Vegas strip?

The ten contestants are as follows:

• Jacquie Aquines: Singer and Musician. Described as the "Ice Queen".
• Theresa Bruneau: Singer. Described as "The Temptress".
• Nathan Burton: Illusionist. Described as "The Magic Man".
• Sarah Darling: Singer. Described as "The Country Girl".
• Delisco: Freestyle Poet and Muscian. Described as "The Showstopper".
• Jennifer Joseph: Singer / Former Miss Nevada. Described as "The Sexy Diva".
• Marla Schultz: Comic. Described as "The New Yawker".
• Paul Sperrazza: Vocally Mimics Musical Instruments. Described as "The Wild One".
• Joe Trammel: Prop Comic. Described as "The Joker".
• Dave Russo: Comic. Described as "The Wise Guy".
