Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Inferno 2, Episode 4 - When Fixing the Mission Backfiresby Phil Kural -- 03/29/2005
View Printable version of this article Previously on The Inferno 2, Tonya unleashed her anger on Beth for gossiping about her to Robin. At the “X Marks the Spot” challenge, the Bad Asses won their third challenge in a row, while Robin and Tina were both nominated to the Inferno. Tina didn’t seem to take it to well, and when Beth found out her team was secretly against her, she pledged her allegiance to the Good Guys! It only gets better from here. We begin this week with Julie telling Beth that she knows what’s going on with the Bad Asses, and overheard CT and Abram talking about throwing a mission to get rid of Beth. Does every episode start with someone spreading gossip? Beth says that The Good Guys are a good team that she wants to be involved with, and if she hears people talking about her, she will confront them. Next we see Beth confronting Abe about throwing a mission, which he denies of course. Derrick and the other guys tell Beth to calm down, even though she doesn’t believe a word coming out of their mouths. She says she’ll f**k up the Bad Asses, and won’t let them walk all over her. I really love this new Beth. See how one can mature with age, and when even nastier bitches are around? Text message! Teams are told to be ready by 9 AM for their next challenge, and to wear tennis shoes and their team colors. I don’t understand. Why do they have to wear their team colors? There are only 10 people on a team. Do they think they will forget who is on what team? Mike says that the Good Guys get along, but for some reason keep coming up short. What do they have to do? Julie says that their team has unity, and Robin is glad that she is the first girl in the Inferno and wants to do the best and set a precedent. Tina is packing her bags just in case, but doesn’t think she will be going home. The teams arrive at the mission site and Dave welcomes them to their mission, titled “Run for Your Money.” This mission will give the teams a chance to be greedy, and with this group, greedy is one thing they have no problem being. A helicopter comes flying in, and Dave tells them that over the course of 20 minutes, the helicopter will drop bags of money, filled with different increments and different value bills. The team that collects the most money when time expires will win $10,000. Robin says the Inferno is no joke, and she wants to go win it. Mike says that they haven’t won anything yet, while Julie chimes in that a win would be good for morale. CT tells some of the other Bad Asses that they will give their money to Tina. Hopefully, if Tina gets the most money, she will win the Aztec Lifeshield (AL) and put Beth into the Inferno in her place. Those scoundrels! Messing with my Beth! Tonya says she is all about it if they can really send Beth home. The helicopter arrives and the Bad Asses have 10 players, so Darrell is nervous since they are on up on the Good Guys. Beth just comments that since money is involved, you can bet these people will be acting crazy. You said it, Beth! Ugh, I love her! Dave waves the flag and off they go. All hell beaks loose and everyone is grabbing the money. Robin pushes Abram over and money is flowing everywhere. People are using their talons to scoop up as much as possible. I’m looking at you, Veronica. The Bad Asses start putting their money into Tina’s pants and jacket. Robin asks Tina if she is scared of facing her. Tina denies it, of course. Shavonda starts to get the same idea. She and Jamie start putting all their money in Robin’s coat, too. Mike wants Robin to win the AL on her own, and not with the help of the others. Darrel has the best strategy, waiting until he sees people on the Bad Asses crawling around, then running over and taking all their money while they get exhausted. That’s a smart move. More money falls, and everyone is grabbing. Abe says that he hates throwing missions, but for this one, they can throw it and get rid of Beth, all while still winning. Tina adds that she wants Beth gone, but knows what they are doing is lame. The buzzer rings and time is up, but the challenge isn’t over. Dave tells the teams that now each person has to count their own money and write down their total. If their money isn’t counted correctly, they lose it all. Tina knows she is in trouble now, as does Robin. Looks like this mission couldn’t be thrown so easy after all, huh Abe? They have five minutes to count their money, and Beth says that she just wants the other team to win. Julie says their greed is now working against them, and when one minute is left, everyone is scrambling. 1 2 Next-->View Printable version of this article |
