America’s Next Top Model 5: The “Extras” Show

I didn’t realize that America’s Next Top Model was having a clip show until a few hours beforehand. I guess that’s a good thing since I ended up going out for my mother’s birthday. Hey, she deserves her own dinner as well! Anyway, some new footage was shown – nothing that I found extremely shocking – but nonetheless, some insight to some of the girls that we haven’t gotten to see was displayed. Here’s the rundown:

Even though Ashley was a beautiful girl, she was an easy early boot. She apparently knew too much about the business, which wasn’t a good thing. I’m a little confused here, since the reason that Yoanna won Cycle 2 was because she knew a whole lot about the industry. Okay, I learned nothing new from this clip.

Basically, we learn that Jayla has been a bitch the whole time, and not just for the past few weeks. There is a clip of her telling Kim during the first fashion shoot that she is fat and needs to suck in her gut. How classy. It seems like Jayla makes most of her comments right before the girls are about to perform, probably to bring down their game. Then, she continues to make snide comments about everyone during her private interviews as well. Why do the producers want us to hate her so much?

We get to see a little insight on Coryn, as we learn that she brought a fart machine into the house. This is stuff the felt we needed to know? Also, it turns out that she and Lisa made up after the incident where Lisa was called an “alcoholic bitch.” Coryn wrote her a letter of apology later that night and everything was fine between them when Coryn was eliminated. Well, that might be a little useful, but not much.

Shots of Kim are shown, being goofy, playing the harmonica and basically just being Kim. It makes me love her ten times more. No wonder she is always picked to go on rewards – she’s so much fun to be around!

Apparently, nobody really “hated” Cassandra, but there was pretty much a general dislike between her and the rest of the girls. It was pretty mutual, and when she was eliminated, everyone went their separate ways and that was that. No hard feelings. Yeah, probably because they have a bigger bitch in the house with Jayla!

MY Nicole and Kyle have a discussion on birds, with Nicole commenting that birds fly into windows because they are blind. Kyle remarks that she has a bird at home that is definitely not blind, and MY Nicole concludes that it’s only “outside birds” that are blind. Kyle gives a look that reads: “Are you nuts?” It’s kind of cute, and I still love MY Nicole, but it’s obvious that the editors want us to believe she is an airhead.

Some clips of Lisa are shown, trying to make her look more friendly and loveable. I still think she is getting the “Eva edit” to win. Bitch at first, but makes a total turnaround to take the win in the end. Other than that, we see a few more clips of Jayla being a raging bitch, but that pretty much sums it up.

What did we learn today? Well, next to nothing, but I guess it’s nice to see a little bit more of what the girls do on their downtime, such as playing with a fart machine and dance around like lunatics. I’m looking forward to a new episode to find out if MY Nicole can break the final five! I’m also rooting on Nik and Kim, with Bre and Lisa at the back of the pack. Jayla? Umm, I don’t like Jayla anymore. The editors made me dislike her! They do their jobs well. See y’all soon!
