View Printable version of this article Okay, I love Jennifer. I loved her throughout the season, and loved her even more after I had a chance to speak with her. In this interview, Jennifer touches on the issues she had with her eye and how she rectified it, who has the edge in the final two, and if she was recruited for the show or not. Beaming with personality, Jennifer gave a fun, exciting interview – just like I expected her to do! RealityNewsOnline: Hey Jennifer! I’m so glad to talk with you, and let me say you have made us Philadelphians proud! Jennifer: Ha! I love Philadelphia! I grew up in Northeast Philly, and moved out to Montgomery County when I was in 8th grade. My parents still live there now. I currently live in NYC, but I’m down there a lot to see my family, and my heart will always be in Philly! RNO: So, you are telling me you are still a Phillies fan? Jennifer: I am, and everyone here in NYC hated me for it! RNO: I had heard from Kara earlier this season that you were recruited for the show. Is this true, and how much of previous seasons had you actually seen? Jennifer: Okay, all I can say is that Kara is a liar – I was not recruited for the show. I had to stay in line just like everyone else, and I was actually part of the NYC melee that occurred! I swear that you can see me on the video they posted on Perez Hilton! I wasn’t recruited at all. I was a HUGE fan of the show, and I’ve never missed an episode. I have to watch when my boyfriend isn’t home, since he’s not a huge fan, but I watch all the time! RNO: How much modeling experience did you have prior to being on the show? Jennifer: I modeled a little in Philly, actually. I was with Reinhard Modeling Agency, and had just moved to NYC when I heard auditions were being held. So I left the agency since I was in NYC and wanted to try out for the show. Things were fine in Philly, but it’s a small market, and I knew that being up here I’d just have way more opportunities. RNO: At the beginning of the competition, you struggled with your eye, yet as things went on, we never really heard about it again. Did you learn how to conceal the problem, or was it really not that big a deal to begin with? Jennifer: You know what? I’m not going to say it wasn’t a problem, since it was something I had to deal with, especially when I don’t have makeup on. One thing Tyra told me though, and it ended up being a HUGE piece of advice for me, was that since I have this issue, to tell the makeup artist and they can help fix it with makeup. That ended up helping me so much, since I told every artist we worked with and they really hooked me up. RNO: The judges said that you had a great body of work, and a very strong personality. Why don’t you think you made the final two? Jennifer: My final photo in the competition wasn’t that strong, and I think it’s fair that I went out when I did. Had it been other girls in the final four, it would have been different, but we all really were pretty close at that point. It was a tough competition. They just weren’t impressed with my photo, and there’s nothing I could do at that point. Nicole and Laura had amazing photos, but so did Erin! I knew it could have went any way at that point. RNO: I felt like Nicole had a spot ready for her in the final two from the beginning. What do you think? Jennifer: You know, we all looked at Nicole as a huge competitor. She got up there for the first photo shoot and really rocked it out. We had our eye on her and she never placed low at judging. I think every girl knew going into the house that she was going to be the girl to beat. RNO: Only one other Asian girl has ever made it to the final four, and that was April – all the way back in Cycle 2. Did you feel that you had something to prove, not only as a model, but as an Asian? Jennifer: I don’t know how to answer this question. For the most part, I look at myself as an American. Sure, I eat a lot of Korean food, and most of my family is there, but I just consider myself more American than anything else. I had enough pressure already and I didn’t need the Korean community or the Asian community wanting me to do it for them too! My family and friends and just the pressure of everyone else was enough, not to mention the pressure I put on myself! 1 2 Next-->View Printable version of this article |
