WWF Tough Enough: Jacqueline

by Mike DeGeorge -- 07/10/2002
A good wrestler, but she has a voice like fingernails on a blackboard. Jacqueline will be one of the women's trainers on WWF Tough Enough.

Jacqueline, or Jackie, Moore began her career in the early 90’s in her home state of Texas for the World Class Championship Wrestling promotion where she wrestled as “Sweet Georgia Brown.” A black-belt in Tae Kwon Do, she had to train with men because there were no other women wrestlers she could train with. She also wrestled for the Memphis-based USWA promotion as “Miss Texas” before she got her break in 1996 and broke into World Championship Wrestling as Ms. Jacqueline. She had an unremarkable WCW career as ‘boyfriend’ to wrestler Kevin Sullivan and later as ‘manager’ of Tag Team Wrestlers Harlem Heat. She left for the WWF toward the middle of 1998.

Just like Tori before her, Jacqueline’s first feud was with Sable. This time Jacqueline played the role of Marc Mero’s (Sable’s real-life husband) “girlfriend” following the storyline break-up of the Meros. Perhaps the most notable highlight of their feud was a bikini contest won by Sable who came to the ring topless except for two painted on black handprints over her breasts. Jacqueline also held the WWF Women’s Title for two months before losing it back to Sable.

After “breaking up” with Marc Mero in December 1998, she joined Terri Runnels (who had been “dumped” by her husband Goldust, Dustin Runnels) to form the group known as PMS. The Pretty Mean Sisters added another member – wrestler Ken Shamrock’s “sister” Ryan – and introduced Shawn Stasiak as “Meat”, their private boy toy. Predictably, this went nowhere. Jacqueline appears sporadically when the WWF needs a woman wrestler to further a particular story.

Personally, I have never liked Jacqueline from the time I first saw her in Memphis. Mainly, her voice to me is like a million fingernails on a million blackboards. That doesn’t take away from her wrestling ability, which rivals Tori’s for best in the WWF.

You can probably figure out by now the role that women usually play in the WWF. They wrestle occasionally, but are more often used as ‘girlfriends’ to wrestlers or worse, as mindless T&A to compete in the occasional bra & panties match or bikini contest. Keep this in mind while watching Tough Enough. It will be interesting to see which the WWF values more highly – their bodies or their abilities. I found considerably more personal information on the men, while what I found on the women were mostly “hot photos.”
