Dancing with the Stars 14, April 9: Rock ‘n Roll All Night and Ballroom Every Day

Len says tango is a mix of aggression and control. Occasionally it lost a little bit of control. It was pretty good but not great.

Bruno liked it. He babbles a bunch of other stuff but it’s inconsequential.

Tom tells us we can vote for the pros who will dance in the Macy’s Stars of Dance. Go online to vote and tune in tomorrow at 9/8 Central to see who wins.

Brooke asks how Maria’s feet feel and Maria says they’re fine.

Scores: Carrie Ann: 9; Len: 8; Bruno: 9. Total: 26.

Jennifer Love Hewitt is in the audience. Tom asks who she is cheering for and she says Maks.

Gavin DeGraw & Karina Smirnoff have been in the bottom two each week so far. It’s not a great feeling but Rock Week is right up his alley. Karina tries to teach Gavin to be sexy for their tango. She threatens to duct tape his mouth. He wants to pull out of the bottom and inch his way to the top.

Gavin & Karina perform possibly the most dramatic tango of the night. They are dancing to “Paint It Black” and I love their purple and black costumes. Not the best posture but another big improvement for Gavin!

Len liked it. He thought it had flair and attitude.

Bruno says Gavin was focused but his frame was bad.

Carrie Ann felt she was watching Johnny Depp on the stage. But his posture was a little strange.

Tom plugs the results show again but we’re short on time. So just tune in tomorrow at 9/8 Central.

Brooke asks if Gavin did enough to break out of the bottom position. He says he is happy to stick around and be the foundation for the group.

Scores: Carrie Ann: 8; Len: 8; Bruno: 7. Total: 23.

At the end of the Week 4, the standings are as follows:

RANKINGSTARSCORE
1 Donald 27
2 Roshon 26
2 Maria 26
4 Katherine 24
5 Gavin 23
6 Jaleel 22
6 Melissa 22
6 William 22
9 Sherri 21
10 Gladys 20

Performances were a bit off tonight but any other season they would have been great Week 4 scores. My predictions are worth nothing, but I can’t not make one, so here goes. I’m going to say that, as much as I would love to see her continue, Gladys will take her leave of the show tomorrow night. I don’t know why, and I’m probably wrong, so I’ll just leave it at that.

As we close the show, Tom tells us Melissa injured herself tonight and she and Maks have gone to the hospital to make sure she is OK. Hope all is well, Melissa!

Be sure to go vote for your favorite couple and tune in tomorrow when Chris Harris will be here to bring you KISS, the Macy’s Stars of Dance pro selections, and—of course—the eliminated couple at 9 Eastern/8 Central. I’ll be back next Monday with our 9 remaining couples. Ciao for now!
