More Celebrity Boxing to Come?

The fact that Fox’s Celebrity Boxing special K-O’ed the competition doesn’t surprise me. After all, it was only up against a repeat of The West Wing, and an episode of The Amazing Race. Even the results of the matches were no surprise. Did anyone really think Todd Bridges wouldn’t destroy Vanilla Ice, or Tonya Harding wouldn’t beat up on Paula Jones? And anyone who has read Danny Bonaduce’s book knows that the scrappy little boy who played Danny Partridge grew up to be a scrapping man and has had several careers since becoming an adult.

So today, on the Ides Of March, Page Six in the New York Post is reporting that there might be a grudge match between Danny Partridge and Long Island auto-body worker Joey Buttafuco. The Post is reporting that moments after he beat up Barry Williams, aka Greg Brady, Danny Bonaduce had a “heated exchange” moments after with Buttafuoco.

In an interview last night with the TV show Access Hollywood, Danny Bonaduce said “Buttafuoco is out of his mind. At the ring he said something I didn’t like, and I was a little angered at.”

A witness at the match told the Post that Danny Bonaduce “shrieked” at Joey Buttafuoco, who was at the fight as an alternate for Greg Brady, “You’re not so tough when your girlfriend isn’t shooting anyone,” alluding to Buttafuoco’s infamous affair with Amy Fisher aka Long Island Lolita (who had originally been scheduled to fight but was forbidden to do so by authorities).

Fox sources told the Post that a new episode of Celebrity Boxing could air as early as this May, and might feature Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire bride Darva Conger.

I sure hope not. I didn’t watch this show, I sure won’t be watching Celebrity Boxing 2. Especially if it is on opposite Amazing Race 2 again!
