Big Brother 3, July 31: Getting Dunkedby C. Brian Devinney -- 08/01/2002
View Printable version of this article We start off with the traditional recap of the nominations where Amy and Marcellas learned their fate. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Tell me something I don’t know! Amy says that they are not stupid (no comment from me). They are really mad. They think that it was in incredibly bad taste for Roddy to approach them following the nominations to apologize and give his reasoning for why he chose them. Amy says that Roddy’s rationale that he nominated Amy because he didn’t really get to know her is not flying with her. And to be a little honest, it’s not really flying with me either. I saw the two of you having some great conversations (or so it seemed) and you were getting to know her before you tossed her over for Ki-Whore-a (more on that later but in case you don’t know, that means Chiara or Ki-Whore-a or the Slut Bitch from Pluto take your pick) and starting ignoring everyone. Sure enough we now get Roddy in bed listening to some music when Ki-Whore-a comes in and tells him he did well and did what he had to do. We quickly cut over to Marcellas and Amy in the diary room going off on Ki-Whore-a. She’s manipulative, selfish, and monopolizes Roddy’s time – time that I am sure Marcellas (who has already admitted a crush on the Head of Household) wouldn’t mind spending with him. Amy just calls her trashy, which might be an appropriate word but of course I could go with slutty and probably be on target as well. Eric says what I (and probably everyone else) was thinking in regards to Amy’s nomination. She wasn’t nominated for her drinking or for arguing with Tonya as much as it was because Amy was flirting with Roddy and Ki-Whore-a didn’t like it that much because -- ooh! – that might actually be competition. Eric does go on to say that Roddy is one of the major players in the house and probably the biggest schemer as well. Marcellas says that Amy is taking the nomination personally (as if there was any other way to take it) and is now drowning her sorrows in her drug of choice – cheese! I have to agree with Marcellas when he says that it was one of the grossest thing he has seen. It looked like orange chewing tobacco going into her mouth. It wasn’t pretty. Anyway, one of his first comments to her is that they need to take the high road regarding their nominations. Of course Marcellas says that he doesn’t want to stab her in the back but… oh just you wait. Just you wait… Roddy is not a happy camper either in regards to his two nominees. He says he went over to the hammock to talk with them to let him know that he still respects and likes them. Silence. He asks if he has told them he is sorry about what he has done. Cold shoulder. A cold shoulder so cold you would think that you were vacationing at the South Pole. Marcellas tells him to hit the road because he can’t pretend that all is fine when it’s not. I have to admit that it was the perfect answer. Here’s what I don’t get with most of these Head of Household people. They think they can nominate people and expect them to stand up and scream, “Yes, thank you, my prayers have been answered. I have been nominated for eviction. It’s the one thing in the entire world that I have ever wanted and to have it realized so soon in my life is a true testament to the power of prayer.” Let’s get serious. No one is happy about being nominated. You can’t expect them to forgive and forget so easily. If you do, then you need to come over and have me give you a lesson or two. Anyway, Roddy gets upset that they are laughing at him when he says he was trying to be nice. It doesn’t matter what you were trying to do Roddy. Geez. Wake up and smell the Nyquil. Now Marcellas thinks that Amy has really brought all of this on herself with her actions and that, yes, she has made some mistakes in the house. However, the trend in the past few weeks has been brought front and center to him. One person is nominated because of whatever reason and a “decoy” is nominated against them. Essentially, it’s a patsy vote and the decoy is just there to take up space while the other person is the one that is taking the fall. However, Marcellas notes (and it’s about time that someone does note this) that the decoy has been the one to take the walk of shame out of the house the last two times. Marcellas was supposed to be ousted first but because Gerry opted to use his veto power, it was Lori, the first decoy that found herself on the way out. Then Marcellas put up Tonya against what he thought was a sure thing in Josh. However, Josh is still there. 1 2 3 4 Next-->View Printable version of this article |
