Big Brother 3, August 22: S-S-S-See Yaby David Bloomberg -- 08/22/2002
View Printable version of this article We begin tonight's episode with discussion about the Sheryl Crow concert from last night's episode. Let's skip ahead to discussions about the game (concerts are cool - talking about concerts is boring). Roddy tells Chiara that if he leaves, she should not worry about taking revenge. She says that of course she won't (um, yeah, right). She would like to think she has the respect of the house (she would be wrong) and says they would never be on the block if it weren't for Amy. Wrong again. Then she goes into a discussion of who will vote for who, but it's confusing because she interchanges voting "for" somebody and voting "against" somebody - plus she seems so certain but, let's face it, she really has no idea whatsoever. Hell, some of the houseguests themselves don't even know which way they are voting! Marcellas tries to stir the pot up a bit by telling Chiara that some of the people who are smiling at you are also lying to you. Chiara immediately takes this back to Danielle, but she says she trusts Danielle more than anybody except Roddy. That would be mistake #427 in the house, Chiara. Roddy privately acknowledges that it would be a better choice to vote him off because he is more of a threat. Yes, Roddy, the viewers know this. It's just a few of the houseguests who can't seem to get this through their heads! Next up is Amy, who is crying and says she feels like she's been used. Aw. Poor thing. OK, enough pity - get a grip. They gave you HoH. They made sure Chiara's little "Operation Revolving Door" plan didn't work. And you're upset that they "used" you? Get over yourself. Coming back to what I said a couple paragraphs ago about people not knowing how they will vote, Jason is called to the Diary Room. He does a quick stop by Danielle, who just says, "Go opposite." He's totally confused. Opposite of what? She doesn't explain, as if he can read minds. So he goes to cast his vote without really knowing what the plan is. At this point, Julie Chen goes live with the houseguests. They discuss Sheryl Crow again. Whoopee. Amy says she's happy to be back, and Marcellas says his prayers were answered to get her back. Gerry has a few words for his wife since it's their 28th anniversary. He says to hang in there because he's bringing home the bacon. Well, there are a few other people in the room who might beg to differ on that point, but we'll see. As I've done before, we'll leave the votes until nearer the end, rather than splitting them up like the show does. So we move into the relationship between Roddy and Chiara. Roddy, as noted previously on our Big Brother 3 spoiler page, is trying to break up with her. He talks to her about how she has taken a lot of stabs at him and embarrassed him. He has really taken it on the chin from her and has been polite in return. He says he knows she is better than that. (Is she?) But she never misses a chance to flirt with Jason and talk about the other guys she has had. Chiara says she knows and he's right, but she's just insecure. Hmmm. Let me check something. … No - the dictionary does not list "insecure" as a synonym for "whore." Privately, Chiara says she gets away with murder. Roddy says he has been taken advantage of a little bit. Chiara and Roddy are parting ways, but she still wanted to give him a present. She gives him a picture of the two of them in the hammock - a close-up. Roddy doesn't like it because it looks like he has a double-chin. Chiara is unhappy that he doesn't like her present. In return, Roddy gets her a book by his favorite author, Carl Sagan. From the cover, it looked like The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark. Let me tell you, my respect for Roddy just shot up - he broke up with Chiara and mentioned that Sagan is his favorite author. It just doesn't get any better than that. (Want to see my review of Sagan's biography? Click here.) Of course, Chiara is less than impressed. She mutters that he gave her a "f***ing book." Yes, Chiara, a book. Read it. Or have somebody read it to you. You might learn something. You could certainly use it. 1 2 3 Next-->View Printable version of this article |
