Big Brother 3: Not for the Faint of Heartby Kikat -- 08/31/2002
View Printable version of this article Is this game for the faint of heart? This question came to mind today as I was thinking we have reached the mid-point of the game. As a third year veteran of Big Brother, I never cease to amaze myself! My frustration level gets so high I am thankful I don't have high blood pressure. Diehard fans such as myself subscribe to the feeds even though I vow I won't! I get so angry at CBS I can barely stand it as they continue to show us less than promised, in my humble opinion. What about 24/7 live feeds is so difficult to understand? FOTH (front of the house) does not constitute an actual part of the game! On Real.com the blurb about the BB3 feeds reads "Big Brother: See what goes on when the TV audience isn't watching. You'll get 24/7 access to live streaming video from the BIG BROTHER House. Switch between 4 live feeds to catch all the action." But we are locked out of the competitions, the nomination ceremony and the like. I was under the impression this was what I was subscribing to see. We see the houseguests scheming, fighting, loving, but when things get really good we get FOTH! Sometimes the feeds show the same thing on all four options. If they are offering four views why is it we don't get four choices to view! OK, that rant is over; now on to the game itself. As we reach the mid-point of this game we see an alliance of three. Danielle pushing/pulling Jason and Lisa along. Jason is so bowled over with Danielle it appears his only goal is to protect her even if it means sacrificing himself. I have my doubts this is a two-way street. Danielle is a game-player and wants to win at all costs. That is what I see. It is her glances that Medusa would be proud of that give me a clue! Jason, God love him, is a man of his word. Too bad he is playing with people who don't share his values. Jason is a smart player, but this will be his downfall. He gave his word to Chiara to keep Roddy safe. For what, to win the game? I just shook my head when he mentioned that time and time again. Even Jason knows, as he sat in the Diary Room and said, "I just gave Roddy the game." So you are beginning to see my frustration, I hope! Yes, it would be nice if they could "all get along" and share a wonderful "experience." But come on, this is a game and the prize is huge! Only Danielle and Roddy seem to be actually playing the game. Danielle with conniving and manipulation; Roddy with a slickness that is simply awesome. They have gotten rid of most of the riffraff (Chiara, Josh, and Tonya come to mind). So on with the game people! As I watch the feeds, post at and read updates at Joker's Updates, and chat with Joker's members on IRC, I simply do not understand why each year the hamsters think they are supposed to bond and become a family. I am continually hearing "we are here for a reason" as if it is something outside the realm of the game. Amy is there to learn she is selfish and whiney; Lisa to have a guy say "Hi" to her! Please!! At this time we have six players left in the game - Amy, Danielle, Jason, Lisa, Marcellas, and Roddy. I believe most of the players agree that Amy has no right to be there due to the twist in the game. Ding dong, read your contracts! CBS, I am sure, spelled it out so all of you could understand the game would be played by their rules! Marcellas won the Head of Household (HoH) competition this week and will be nominating two people for eviction this week. Here again is another huge opening for my frustration! The only wise choice to make would be to nominate Danielle and Lisa. Marcellas is quite aware of the Danielle's alliance with Jason. He holds Jason as his ace in the hole should Danielle or Lisa wins the Power of Veto (POV). Any other scenario is simply ridiculous. You simply count it up and all that is needed are two votes to evict this next round. Should Marcellas be so stupid as to put up Roddy against Danielle ("the battle of the Titans"), Roddy goes. Lisa and Jason vote to evict Roddy - end of story. The alliance of three is intact and Marcellas is on the block with Amy the following week. You can throw in Amy getting the POV and removing Roddy, of course, but you can't place your bets on that scenario! I suppose if you can't take the frustration of this game you shouldn't watch. Yeah right! This is an addiction; a train wreck; a four car pileup. You simply can't look away. Kikat is webmistress of the Banish Chiwhora website.
