Big Brother 3, September 12, Part 1: Marcellas the Hypocriteby David Bloomberg -- 09/13/2002
View Printable version of this article We begin with some mixed feelings about Roddy. He was a good guy. He was too good a player. So says Jason. But Marcellas has other feelings. He was not playing well or honorable, so he didn't deserve to stay. Hello? This is Marcellas saying these things - the same Marcellas who conveniently decided he didn't really have an alliance with Roddy, even though he said he did. Who's the dishonorable one? Marcellas later goes off on Roddy saying he was selfish and only thought of himself and he hopes Roddy gets out and has an epiphany to see what others did for him. I really think Marcellas is living a delusion. I wonder what color the sky is in his world. Lisa reveals that shortly before the live show last week, Roddy had asked her if he was going. She said she didn't know, but it was obvious to him what was going on, and she felt really bad about it. But the others in the house made her feel better by reminding her that he had to go. Amy wonders what happened to her. She says she came in a mean witch and now she's a big crybaby because of her blubbering over Roddy leaving. For his part, Jason can't believe that Roddy still tried to hold the non-Veto over her at the very end. Danielle calls it sad and hurtful that he would do that. Moving on to the aftermath of the Head of Household competition, as many who saw the live feeds have been saying, Danielle and Jason had talked about taking a dive in the contest so Amy could get it and put up Marcellas and hopefully Lisa. Then after the very first question, they looked around and saw that Amy and Lisa had ducked out before Danielle and Jason could even think about diving! So Jason is the HoH and he has to decide who he nominates. Well, we'll get to that in a bit, but meanwhile he realizes that he and Danielle had told both Lisa and Marcellas that they were coming to the final three. Whoops! Can't do both, so this might be a rather key time. Amy talks about how she's not unpacking, and Danielle tells her to not assume she's going. Amy takes this as an indication that Danielle could vote with her - which I think is probably more than she should have taken away from that conversation. For her part, Danielle says everything is going as planned, but she's learned to expect the unexpected - if you relax, you're in trouble. So the next thing we see is their TV screen showing, "Expect the Unexpected." Damn, don't you just hate it when something like that happens? Amy says as long as they aren't bringing back Chiara to kill her, she's okay with whatever it is. Jason brings in a box with the new twist. It is the Golden Veto - the final veto of the series, and if a person is nominated and wins the Veto, they can for the first time use it on his/herself. Oooooh. So, because the Veto announcement (whether or not it will be used) will be announced live, that means somebody who is not even nominated going into it could end up walking out the door! The only one who doesn't have to pack his bags is Jason. But there's a whole lot before we get to that. First is the food competition, which seems to have been borrowed from Survivor and/or Fear Factor. First they are all told to dress up for a formal dinner. Then they head out to the backyard, which has been decorated into a big gothic banquet setup. But as they drew nearer the dinner table, they knew something was wrong - there were covered dishes and… buckets under the table? Uh oh. They sit down and Jason confirms that it is the "Dinner Party FROM HELL." He is the only one who does not participate. The others are in two teams - Danielle & Marcellas and Lisa & Amy. Basically, they each pick one person and that person has to eat whatever they are given within a minute. How do they get the food? Jason turns over a name (which may or may not be in English) and the first team decides just based on that whether to eat it or pass. Then the other dish goes to the other team. Throwing up at the table is considered a forfeit. Each of the three rounds is worth two days of food. If a team doesn't clean their plate, they are stuck with PB&J for those two days. 1 2 3 Next-->View Printable version of this article |
