And So Big Brother 3's Amy Gets Pissed On… Againby Nina Perez-Bauschka -- 09/21/2002
View Printable version of this article A few nights ago, America's favorite libation-lovin' self-proclaimed Southern belle was evicted from the Big Brother 3 house… again. Smooching the house virgin wasn't enough to save Amy from her second eviction and it wasn't until I saw her walking out the house for the second time (third if you count her little trip out the back door to make a vomit deposit in the Pacific Ocean) that I realized that I really wanted Amy to win. Even better, I think she could have. Let me explain. First of all, after seeing last night's updates on some of the evicted houseguests - Roddy, Tonya, Eric, and Lori - I think it's pretty apparent that if Danielle makes it to the final two, they're not giving her diddily squat. She may be the one in need of a Kevlar vest at the cast party, not Amy. I could see people giving the money to Amy, with the exception of Chiara, simply to screw Danielle for… well, for screwing them. It was also clear that Amy was deluded about the game. "The final four were living in an alliance-free house." Uh, okay. And when informed that there was not only an alliance in the final four but an alliance that has been going on since week one, how did she respond? "That's okay." And she still wanted Danielle to win. To her credit, she hadn't seen the tapes when she said that. (See our Big Brother 3 spoiler page to find out what Amy recently told a Memphis newspaper about her thoughts on voting now). But how can you hate that kind of positive, if not ditzy, attitude? The girl clearly came to play… just not the game. She may have been one of the few who said they came for the experience and meant it. For that, I really wanted her to win. She handled everything like a trooper. Nominated six times, treated like crap during the first weeks by the clique of Chiara and Tonya, evicted twice and berated by her best friend in the house during his nomination speech to her. The girl deserved to win, I think, more than anyone else who left or is still in there. She was a true player too. Look how many competitions she won! I've read that most consider the most classic moment in reality television to be when Gerry came out of the bathroom without washing his hands, then mixing a salad with his hands and picking lettuce out of it to eat. I disagree. Amy's dog, Buckingham, pissing all over Amy's shoes and the studio floor after her eviction took the cake - not to mention how she cooed over him while barely giving her mother a second glance. (A close second would have to be the night she literally shoveled cheese in her mouth after being nominated the first time… or maybe when she fell out the hammock…) Anyway, cheese eating or libation hoarding - I really loved Amy and I think she had a decent shot at beating Jason or Danielle in the finals. Let us not forget… the final two each get to veto a vote. I'm betting Amy would have nixed Chiara's vote quick. Of course, it's all moot now, I know. I raise my margarita glass to the dearly departed Memphis beauty queen. Be sure to sign up for our e-mail update so you can stay informed about new articles on the site!
