The Shining Stars of Big Brother 3

Big Brother 3 has evicted its last houseguest and the lights are out on yet another season of the popular reality show. I found this year interesting and yet a little boring at the same time. I think, out of the 12 houseguests, only three shone through as the true stars of the show - and they were not Danielle or Lisa or even Jason. The true stars of Big Brother 3, the ones we loved and the ones we sometimes loved to hate, were Amy, Marcellas and Roddy.

I was thinking back to Big Brother 1 and 2 -- trying to remember the competitors on those shows. I remembered Eddie, Chicken George, Jordan, and Brittney from season 1, but that's it. Big Brother 2 led me to thoughts of Will and well, pretty much just Will. I think as the months go on and people think back to Big Brother 3, the names that will undoubtedly come to mind will be those of Amy, Marcellas, and Roddy.

Amy, who is beautiful, funny, and was picked on more than anyone I've ever seen picked on in my entire life, is my choice for the first and brightest star of Big Brother 3. The other houseguests were just downright mean to that girl. She kept her chin up throughout the entire thing and kept that wonderful smile on her face. Amy shone through it all! She was the self-proclaimed 'professional nominee' and week after week she held her position with grace. As much as Amy was picked on, she held her morals and her integrity in tact. I can't see her light being extinguished anytime soon. At least I hope it isn't.

Marcellas, was... well, I think we all love Marcellas. His love of his gnome, Boo, was enough to send me over the edge! He was the most dramatic houseguest. He cried, he laughed, he strutted, he primped, he posed, and he strutted some more. His lines were enough to make you fall off your couch laughing. I think the man almost fainted about ten times before my very eyes. Marcellas was great television. He (along with his germ-free sink) is my pick for the second shining star of Big Brother 3, and I know I'll miss him.

Roddy, oh, Roddy. What can I say about this man? He was amazing. Maybe I've included him in my three stars of the show because he is, undoubtedly, the perfect man. At least I think so. He was smart. He was so smart he scared the other houseguests. I think Roddy's charisma and charm and intellect overpowered perhaps all of the other houseguests combined. He is an incredible person with an even more incredible personality, and that personality shone straight through CBS right into my living room. The man mesmerized me, he intrigued me, he made me want to use the power of veto! Paraphrasing what Marcellas said, "I talk to him and I know he's wrong and when he's done talking, all I can say is... I love you." We all love you, Roddy! My choice for third and final shining star of Big Brother 3 is Roddy Mancuso. He was only outshone by the Southern Belle and her best friend, Marcellas (who I don't think can ever be labeled as anything but Marcellas - a great, wonderful, kind and catty man that you can't help but fall in love with!).

I was sad to see the sun set on this summer of Big Brother 3. One final peek at the live internet feeds showed Danielle getting ready for the live show and Lisa shaking so badly she felt she couldn't put on her makeup. But, a big congratulations to Lisa! Nerves aside, Lisa follows Eddie and Will as the third winner of Big Brother. I think she did a great job; but, I do think she was outshone this year by three most amazing personalities - best of luck to you Amy, Marcellas, and Roddy. We can't wait to see what else you have in store for us.
