"Meet My Folks" Cooks Up Surprises for Its Second Season

How do you top a season that had specimen cups, hidden cameras, wine throwing, and calf wrestling? This is the dilemma that face the producers of Meet My Folks. Will they be up to the challenge?

RealityNewsOnline readers deserve to know. Towards this end, I met with a highly placed source that works close to the action. Let's just call him Deep Folk. We rendezvoused in a cold parking garage in an undisclosed location. He wore a trench coat and a fedora, and his eyes constantly scanned the garage for spies.

"Got your pen ready?" he asked me. "Good. Now, I'm only going to say this once. The new season of Meet My Folks will start the first week of December. It's going to run straight through March. Nash Entertainment has just finished shooting the season premiere, which will start off with a three-episode story arc. Eight women visit an eligible guy and his family. Of course, only one will win."

I admit I was frightened by what he said. I know that unless I take copious notes, I have my share of difficulties telling three TV chicks apart, let alone eight. Oh, lord, I thought, couldn't Meet My Folks just NUMBER these girls, like runners in the Boston Marathon?

I shook off the feeling I might not be up to differentiating between eight pairs of breasts and pressed him for further information. Deep Folk went on to explain that during the taping, everyone thought they knew what was in store. But the family and women were wrong, every time. The production staff had them completely flummoxed. Deep Folk seemed ecstatic about this turn of events, and the new evil twists Nash Entertainment has up its sleeves.

When asked for more information, Deep Folk became coy. All I got out of him was that the fax machines and Nick the Polygraph expert would return, with everything else a closely guarded state secret.

But Deep Folk let it spill that the first winning couple of the season will be enjoying a new grand prize: two weeks in Europe. My mind started to wander as I contemplated this enticing brass ring. Two weeks in Europe? How cool is that? I start to daydream about London and Paris.

Yet this was no time for idle thought. The figure in the trench coat called me out of my European reverie.

"Pay attention," said Deep Folk. "Keep your eyes out for a former Miss Missouri - USA as one of the daughters in a future episode. She's a knockout."

"What about others?" I asked. " Will there be more models, actresses, and so forth?"

"Only a few episodes are completed," he said. "There's still casting to be done. In fact, there will be a huge open casting call on Saturday, November 2nd, at Gower Studios in L.A. It's going to be massive. News coverage, the works."

Somewhere in the distance, a car horn blasted, and the sound of screeching wheels filled the air. I was momentarily distracted, and Deep Folk disappeared into the darkness.

I cursed myself that I had let him out of my sight, when I noticed a slip of paper on the ground. It read, "Special Message To the Readers of RealityNewsOnline: See you here in November for an exclusive interview with Meet My Folks' Polygraph expert, Nick Savistano."
