A Brief Chat with Big Brother 2's Will

by David Bloomberg -- 11/05/2002
Big Brother 2's Will Kirby has been a busy guy since winning the show last year. What has he been up to, where can you find him now, and does he think he could have beaten the Big Brother 3 crowd? Let's see what he has to say.

Before Danielle called Roddy "the Devil" and lied to many of the other contestants on Big Brother 3, Will Kirby perfected a similar strategy in Big Brother 2 a year earlier - though he admitted he was lying to people while Danielle did so only behind closed doors. While it did not bring victory to Danielle, it most certainly did for Will, and has opened up many other doors as well.

Will is a busy guy these days, but took a few moments to provide RealityNewsOnline with an update on what he's been doing, where he's going, and a few other thoughts.

He began by letting us know that he is working as a special medical correspondent for the television show eXtra, and his first segment aired last Saturday (November 2). If it was received well, he expects them to continue. He has also recently appeared on The Rob Nelson Show and expects to be on other talk shows when his upcoming series, Love Shack, airs. (For more information on the show, click here, although obviously the premiere dates have since been changed.) Will says that Love Shack has wrapped production, but the premiere date is still unknown. Will told me, "The show is awesome. Much better than The Bachelor.

Other than these things, I asked Will what he's been up to lately. He said he will be opening a restaurant, Dolce, in mid-December in Los Angeles, and notes that there will be "many celeb investors." So those of you in the L.A. area, keep your eyes out for it.

In addition, he is still sticking to his roots as a doctor, and is licensed to practice medicine in both California and Florida, with an Arizona license also pending. He will have two medical clinics open by February of next year.

When I asked him about whether he could have beaten the contestants of Big Brother 3, he replied: "Yes, I could have easily won Big Brother 3. Not bragging, just stating the obvious. I think everyone will agree. I mean really, do you think any of them could have beat me?"

I also brought up the question that so many readers have asked, noting that in his "update" segment on Big Brother 3, he didn't say anything about Shannon. I asked: "Fans want to know if you're still together - is that something you can tell us about?" Alas, the only answer we got was: "Relationship status: single." So make of that what you will. But, ladies, it sounds like he's available.

So the "evil doctor" has done what so many reality TV participants set out to do, but never could accomplish. He has turned his 15 minutes of fame into something a bit more lasting. Furthermore, let us not forget that he was the winner, and still managed to do so (it often seems that those who continue on in Hollywood are not the people who had won their respective shows).

RealityNewsOnline will continue to follow Will's career and give you updates as they occur. We will also let you know when NBC schedules Love Shack, so keep your web browser pointed right here.
