Survivor: Thailand – Advice to the Remaining Sevenby Jeffrey Clinard -- 11/21/2002
View Printable version of this article Things are getting trickier, and knowing who to ally with and who not to are becoming stronger issues to deal with. So who is in the right spot at the right time? The Survivor Advisor returns with Advice for the Remaining Seven. Alliances are important, but the ability to look several moves forward is the actual key to winning. That means everybody should be looking at what will happen when the tribe grows smaller, and just what their position is going to be not just after the next vote, but the votes after that as well. This means either you are in an alliance that will carry you to the final three or you should be counting the noses of the people that are not and going from there. Clay. Nice moves in the immunity challenge, but watch your step. You'll need to keep Jan and Helen around for a few more votes, otherwise they might betray you when they feel insecure. It is the test of Survivor: how far can you trust somebody until the end of the game? Brian. Three votes against your alliance is a powerful statement. The old Sook Jai knows exactly what is happening, and is telegraphing it. They are trying to find a weak link now, and will try for another later. In the end, though, they might telegraph the final vote. Best advice is to ignore them and their votes for now... but if it comes to a final-vote ultimatum, decide who you want to win. Ted. Three votes meant three political votes. None of them really mean a fig right now. However, you are an outsider, and that vote should wake you up. Get in tight with your alliance and kick off Jake or Penny NOW. You've got a situation, but it 's one you might be able to handle. Jan. You have a political fight on your hands that you must stay away from. Let the ex-tribal opponents fight and pick off the others. The futures of the others just like you (such as Helen) depend on that advantage. As long as there are enemies and you’re not one of them, there are advantages. Helen. You must break up the alliances in the game (the country club alliance, as well as the Sook Jai alliance) for now. Long term, it is the country club trio (Clay, Brian, and Ted) or bust. None of you are stupid enough to play for bust. Jake. You had the right idea, but it was almost impossible to get one of the Chuay Gahn men to shift alliances. Change tactics and work on the women. They are much less secure in their situation and you can use that to mutual advantage. Penny. Like Jake, you need to work to recruit Jan and Helen into your group to overthrow the country club boys. Without them on your side, your fate in the game is jury duty instead of potential winner. Jeffrey Clinard lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, with his kittens, Lam and Princess.
