Survivor: Thailand - Interview with Brian Heidik

by David Bloomberg -- 01/03/2003
Brian Heidik came to Survivor: Thailand with a plan, worked it until the end, and brought home the million dollar prize. He seems to be a man of few words these days, but RealityNewsOnline managed to get a couple things out of him in this interview.

Survivor: Thailand winner Brian Heidik is a man of few words these days, it seems. Perhaps this was one reason he was able to win Survivor: Thailand - by doing less talking and more listening. But RealityNewsOnline was able to interview him and get at least a few things out of him.

RealityNewsOnline: Given your apparent ability to convince people of just about anything, did you have a plan upon arriving or did you play it by ear as you went?

Brian Heidik: I had a plan from the start.

RNO: I, and others, have compared you to Rich Hatch, saying you're the best player since he was on the show - what do you have to say to that?

Brian: I'm just all business!

RNO: Did you study the previous series? What, if anything, did you learn from them?

Brian: No.

RNO: How do you think your strategy would have changed if you had been on Sook Jai? Do you think you still could have pulled off the win?

Brian:Yes.

RNO: How did you feel when you were picked by Jan?

Brian: I was ready to start playing the game.

RNO: What was your plan with Shii Ann had the fake merge been a real one? How long would she have stayed around?

Brian: As long as she was useful.

RNO: When you voted off Helen, were you really worried about her plotting against you, or was it simply because Clay would be easier to beat at the end?

Brian: Yes.

RNO: Did you think the vote would be so close against Clay?

Brian: I knew how the vote would turn out.

RNO: When you actually got to see the shows, what surprised you the most?

Brian: How much weight I lost in such a short time.

RNO: Do you think you were fairly represented on the show?

Brian: What you see is what you get.

RNO: Any plans to go back into acting?

Brian: Yes, "The Marlon Brando Story" and Television and Movies.

RNO: Finally, what advice do you have for future players?

Brian: Don't be like Brian! You will get caught!
