Dave and Jenna are given three new buffs for their new tribemates and have to go back and tell everybody what's going on.

Dave gathers them around and tells them that Alex, Rob, and Matthew have to go. He claims that he chose strategically on how the six of them could be the strongest when it's time to merge. Uh huh. Sure. Well, Rob doesn't believe him. He says he's very mad that his fate in the game is determined by Dave, who doesn't have his best interests at heart! No way! You're kidding! You mean everybody isn't thinking about what's best for you, Rob?! They have a lot of nerve… He goes on to say that Dave just cares about himself, and apparently Roger and Butch. Remember, Rob is the guy who has admitted privately that he would lie, cheat, steal, whatever to win. And he's complaining about somebody else? Gimme a break.

Over in Jaburu, Jenna delivers the news. Heidi says she and Jenna are pretty buddy-buddy so it was a shock to her. (Notice that she didn't add, "and we're the cutest" in there, so maybe she's making progress.) Jeanne, on the other hand, is happy to leave.

As the women arrive at Tambaqui, they are welcomed by the remaining men as everybody introduces themselves. Christy immediately informs the three men that she is deaf. Roger says he is surprised to find out that she's deaf and also surprised at how well she's doing. He never would have guessed it.

Back at Jaburu, Deena says it's amazing what a little testosterone will do. As soon as the boys arrive, Shawna has had a miraculous recovery! For his part, Rob says he'll wait before attempting to proposition any of the women, but if Shawna and Jenna walk around the camp naked, he will not cast a vote for them until the merge!

Back to Tambaqui again (lots of tribe-hopping today), where Christy says she likes the fact that the guys are aware they have somebody deaf with them and they make sure to look at her when talking and stuff like that. Butch says he is making an effort to include her in what's going on, and they make sure it's bright around the camp at night so she can participate. Christy says she's really glad to be in a group where the lantern is useful, not like on Jaburu. I believe that would be a big slap at Heidi and Jeanne, though whether Christy intended it that way or whether Heidi understood it are up in the air.

The next day at Jaburu, Alex and Shawna are hitting it off. He says that she got the most votes from the guys on who the hottest is. She says she digs him. Deena, however, is less than thrilled. She went from the top to the bottom. Shawna is more interested in Alex than in the chick thing, so how loyal will she remain to Jenna and herself is a mystery.

Treemail comes to announce the immunity challenge. Roger says they are confident. Uh oh. That's never a good sign of things to come.

They arrive and Probst begins to ask them what their reactions were at the switch. Heidi says she's not sure, but it was probably needed for a different picture. Alex says he's totally psyched.

The challenge is in two stages. First is a word scramble. There are 10 images associated with the Amazon, but only five are in the scramble. They have to circle all of these. Then they have to paddle boats around the island area to get five corresponding flags and bring them back. First to do so wins.

And they're off. Tambaqui gets the first word, tarantula. Jaburu gets piranha. Tambaqui gets iguana. Jaburu gets anaconda. Tambaqui gets toucan. Etc. They are running close, with Tambaqui just a little ahead. Then Tambaqui finds the last word, mosquito! But wait - it's wrong. No "u." While they're searching for the correct fifth word, Jaburu finds theirs and gets to the boat. They get a flag, and then Tambaqui finishes the first part and heads to the boat. They also get a flag but they have some catching up to do. Tambaqui remains one flag behind as they draw a bit nearer. Finally, it's a race to the finish, with Jaburu still having a lead. They get to the shore first and plant their flags - they have immunity!

As Tambaqui heads back to camp, Jeanne says it's not a fun day - they have no idea how to vote. So the three women go off in a boat and discuss it. They don't know the guys well so they agree to vote for the same guy to force a tie. Heidi won't vote for Dave because he brought them all there, so it's between Roger and Butch. They draw straws and it's Butch. Jeanne says it's a toss-up. They wanted to be as fair as they could, and they figure the guys will do the same.

Well, not exactly.

The guys actually have some strategy going. Dave and Heidi go to get some firewood and he pulls her aside to talk about voting. He tells her that the three guys want her to come along as part of the team. Jeanne will go tonight, and then if they lose again, it will be Christy. Heidi says she's caught off guard (yeah, who would have thought anybody might be considering strategy?!) and asks Dave if he were in her shoes what he would do. He says he'd go with them. But, Heidi says, that would put the guys ahead (see, I told you she can count to four!) and if they lose two more times, she's gone. Well, yes, Dave says. He won't lie to her about that. So now Heidi is in a quandary. She says privately that she is the key factor in the vote and she's incredibly uncomfortable with that. Yes, things are so much easier when you just lie back and be cute and let other people do the thinking for you…
