WWE Tough Enough March 15 Update: Matt; Linda; and Jonah vs. Dannyby Mike DeGeorge -- 03/15/2003
View Printable version of this article First off, I have to give a plug to Dale Sherman's new book, Urban Legends of Rock 'n' Roll: You Never Can Tell. I've read the entire text and seen an advance copy, and I can tell you that it's a fabulous book. If you're a fan of rock, pop, metal, whatever, you're sure to find something interesting in here. Take my word - go out and get a copy today or order it from Amazon by using the above link. I've noticed recently that I've been ignoring Maven, Chris, Josh, and Nidia in these updates. I realized that I don't even think of them as Tough Enough contestants anymore. They're WWE Superstars now. I guess if you want to know what they're up to, just watch WWE programming and you'll get a pretty good idea. For what it's worth, I'd like these updates to concentrate on the TE contestants not a part of regular WWE stories. As for these updates, I'll be doing them as long as there is news to report, or until they stop posting them. As I mentioned in the last update, Jonah wrestled for WWA New England last weekend. What we didn't know is that Danny from TE2 would be making an appearance as well! The team lost to "The Graduate" Tim McNeany & The Hippy Freak on March 7th. After the match, Danny turned on Jonah, blaming Jonah for the loss. One reader who attended the show said that Jonah looked better than anyone else on the card. The next night, Danny beat Jonah when the Hippy Freak interfered, handing Danny a pair of brass knuckles. It seems that this particular story may not be over, which is nothing new for wrestling. WWA has two major shows booked for early April in Massachusetts, and it's likely one or both of them will be on those shows. Be sure to keep your eye on RealityNewsOnline for all the latest news. Matt Morgan's OVW angle with Bolin $ervices advanced again this week, and looks to be heading into interesting territory! Matt wrestled a handicap match against Mark Magnus & Chris Cage. Matt actually picked both men up in a bear hug at the same time during the match, which bodes well for his future, considering how the WWE loves big guys. The fact that he can wrestle and has a lot of charisma is a wonderful bonus. In any case, the match ended when Kenny Bolin, who as you recall has been trying to recruit Matt, hit Magnus in the back with his briefcase. The ref disqualified Matt, despite Matt screaming, "He isn't with me!" As I said, a very interesting angle shaping up. On the same card, Linda wrestled a dark match (not for broadcast on television) against "Passion." It was considered a good match, which Linda won with the Back Massage of Doom (commonly known as the Human Torture Rack.) Because when you want to elevate a young wrestler, you want to make sure to associate them with Lex Lugar. Be sure to check back soon, as we will be posting our interview with Nick in the next few days. I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out, so keep your eye out for it.
