WWE Tough Enough March 28 Update: Scott Responds to Nick, Plus New Matches for Several Contestants

by Mike DeGeorge -- 03/28/2003
TE3's Scott was less than pleased to see some of Nick's comments in our recent interview, and had some choice words in response. Also, updates on several past contestants and where you can find them wrestling!

Scott from TE3 contacted me recently regarding the just-published interview with Nick (recall that I had interviewed Scott the week before). He said he was "steamed," and it took him quite a while to relax after reading it that morning. As we talked Monday night, he was still furious. He wanted me to publish a public response to Nick:

"I felt that what Nick said was a bunch of bullshit, saying that I have no potential to be a WWE Superstar. I wrestled my first match, and got unanimous praise from the wrestlers, all of them said I did a great job.

"Nick is a pussy, he didn't have the balls to say what he said to my face. He's a spineless jellyfish. He was scared to say anything to my face. I will let my actions speak louder than words, I will be doing more work than Nick, not bad for someone with no potential.

"Basically, what Nick said, I thought, was hurtful. I defended him that day, the day he was cut. I was the only person who defended him during and after the show. . I asked him point blank during the show, and he told me that I we were friends. It was very hurtful for someone I thought was a friend to say those things."

Scott also wanted me to point out an interview Jonah gave with The Wrestler Online. That interview and others are archived at http://www.live365.com/stations/rhoward2. In this interview, Jonah tells a story that he went into a restaurant in Boston, the waiter said that Nick was there before him. The server thought Nick was a jerk, and the girl he was with wasn't very attractive either, according to the interview.

I also contacted Bill Gabor, who wrestles as "Chameleon" and worked the same show where Scott made his professional debut a few weeks ago. Bill was more than eager to comment: "My answer to [Nick] is that it's bullsh**. This was Scott's first ever match. He showed up and did his job like a professional and honestly did a better first match than anyone I have seen. HC Loc has been around for a long time and is a very good worker, and Scott looked like he belonged in the ring with him. If he keeps up with his training and keeps his head and heart in it, he can be every bit as good as anyone on that show. I have already told him that I plan on bringing him around to other shows I do, and I wouldn't do that if I thought he would make me look bad. He had a great, professional attitude and a true love for the sport. And he's just plain a nice kid. And you can quote me on that. Thanks for helping me stick up for a friend."

If I hear any more about this interesting story, rest assured that I'll let you know!

In the meantime, Scott's second match will be April 11 in Bridgewater, VA, for Virginia Championship Wrestling, He'll be sharing the card with some of my favorites, including Disco Inferno and one half of the greatest tag team of all-time, "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton. I'd check out this show all week long, and twice on Sunday before I'd consider going to WWE Raw, that's for sure. For more information, check out www.vcw-wrestling.com.

Dale Sherman (author of can Urban Legends of Rock 'n' Roll: You Never Can Tell) just returned from the OVW television tapings in Louisville with some interesting news, and not all of it good.

First, the bad news. TE2 winner Linda Miles may have sustained an injury. She wrestled a dark match against Passion, and was about to go for a move in the corner when she fell flat on her back and Passion pinned her for the win. It was so sudden that an injury was the only explanation. Naturally, we'll keep a close eye on this situation and will let you know if we hear anything about her condition. And, of course, we hope for the best for Linda.

In a match taped for the Saturday television show, the APA fought the Bolin $ervices team of Lance Cade and Renee Dupree. Cade and Dupree won the match when Seven hit Bradshaw with a chair while the referee was distracted. Matt Morgan came out to tell the ref about the interference, convincing him to reverse the decision.

Afterward, Matt had a dark match, teaming with OVW Champion Nick Dinsmore against Bane and Seven. Dinsmore and Morgan were attacked by Bolin $ervices near the end of the match, resulting in a disqualification.

As I mentioned before, it seems that WWE is very high on Matt, and from what we've seen of him, he looks to be taking advantage of his opportunity.

Speaking of Matt getting an opportunity, OVW will be holding their "Six Flags Summer Sizzler" series as they did last year. The first show will be on April 11 at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville. On the show, Matt will face "The Big Red Machine" Kane, while Nova will wrestle Chris Nowinski.

Also, there will be a meet-and-greet with some wrestlers before the show for members of the OVW Fan Club. They have not yet announced who will be attending the meet-and-greet, but I would not be surprised to see Matt or Chris making and appearance. For more information on the Six Flags show or how to join the OVW Fan Club, visit ovwrestling.com.

In other news, the Jonah Aldeman fan site I mentioned in the last update was forced to change servers. The new URL is http://www.star-glitter.net/jonah/index2.html. It's a pretty good site, giving quite a bit of information for those interested in Jonah's career.

Also from last update, I got more information on Paulina's appearance at RMCW a few weeks ago. A reader sent a link to more detailed results at nwarockymountain.com. The gist of the story is that Paulina was at the event but did not wrestle in the match. Instead, she continually distracted the referee, allowing Kay-O to take cheap shots, causing the ref to miss pinfall attempts, and so on. Of course, her interference backfired, hitting Kay-O with the belt by mistake and costing her the match. After the match, Paulina chokeslammed Kay for losing.

TE2's Kenny made his debut for UPW on March 15 in Laughlin, NV, losing a match to Solo Snuka. Solo is the son of the legendary Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, and indeed used his father's signature move (a splash off the top rope) to pin Kenny. Kenny looks to be a fixture on the UPW roster, and he is in good company. Former UPW employees include WWE's Victoria, John Cena, and Nathan Jones - as well as Evan "Joe Millionaire" Marriott.
