Anything for Love: Episode 5by Donna Reynolds -- 07/01/2003
View Printable version of this article Mark Walberg and Claudia DiFolco welcome us to the fifth episode of Anything for Love and we get right to the first couple – Kameron and Kevin. Kameron wants to propose to Kevin but first they want to find out the results of a polygraph test taken previously. Kameron talks about Kevin and what a sweetheart he is. At first she was attracted to him physically (seven times in one night?). He also admits that when they met it was pure lust. But they weren’t honest with each other omitting some rather important details – he had a girlfriend and she was married! No problem, right? So, because they started off a little rocky (I’ll say), they both want to be sure that there are no more lies between them now. Sounds reasonable. They come out on the stage. They seem very nervous and for good reason. Claudia introduces us to Joe, the polygrapher. Then we see portions of the test. Kevin has never told anyone he doesn’t trust Kameron. She is concerned that he is cheating on her. He admits that he has cheated on ex-girlfriends and she lies when asked if she is still partying “like she was when she lived in Vegas.” Kevin tells the truth – he has spoken to his ex-girlfriend. Kameron has had sexual relations with someone since she’s been with Kevin but she lies about it. Ooooops. Kevin is stunned and hurt. She starts out by trying to tell him that she was nervous and that’s why the questions came up lies. Then she backtracks, telling him that she hooked up with her ex once. She starts begging. Mark jumps in and tries to divert the attention to Kevin. Kameron gets all huffy about his having spoken to his ex. Kevin says that he only spoke to the ex to tell her how happy he is. Kameron is getting really desperate here. I wouldn’t trust her one bit. But he is putty in her hands and can’t resist. They kiss and it would appear that she has talked her way out of it. She wants to ask him to marry her. He tells her to ask the question. She gets down on one knee and proposes. He says, “Of course baby,” and she puts a ring on his finger. They kiss again and I guess all is forgiven. Ugh. I give this one six months! Jana Lee is dating Richard, who lives five hours away. Things are pretty good between them but she just has to know how true he is to her. So, guess what happens? That’s right, another “love in an elevator.” Richard is “lured” to an office where he thinks he is auditioning for a reality TV show (well, in a way, he is). Katana, our regular “lurer,” is flirting with him as he sits on the couch trying to ignore her, doing his paperwork. She’s coming on strong as usual and then they end up in the elevator. Katana wants to give him her number but he resists, telling her that he doesn’t feel right about it because he has a girlfriend. When the door opens, Richard comes out and Jana Lee tells him he passed the test. She tells us that he will get a great reward for being a good boyfriend. I still think I would be annoyed if someone set me up like this, even if I did pass. Christina is picked out of the audience and Mark tells her that someone she knows has a HUGE crush on her but is afraid to let he know how he feels. Luis starts out on a big screen talking about what a great friendship they have. He is crazy about her and wants to get to know her better and be more than friends. Then he comes out on the stage and Christina says she’s going to kill him (not a promising start). Luis gives her flowers and then tells her how much he respects and admires her and that he wants to take the relationship to the next level. He wants to take her out on a date. Christina says she would love to go out on a date with him and they hug. Ohhhhhhhh. Finally, one of these surprise meetings has a positive result. Anything for Love is even buying their dinner. Three happy endings tonight – how special! The second show tonight is a repeat – already? It’s the one with the stripper wife, the sleazy girlfriend who flirts with the photographer in the gym, and Rennick and the poor unsuspecting Sara. Stripper wife and hubby get back together, the second couple split up and Sara can’t stand Rennick. If you need more details, read our previous recap.
