Big Brother 4, July 31-August 1 Live Feed Highlights: Power of Veto!

by Paris Cosby -- 08/02/2003
Most of the members of Alison’s alliance are not thrilled by her choice of nominees, but the opposing alliance is – how odd. Of course, the winner of the Power of Veto could change everything. Who wins it this week? (Obviously, this article contains spoiler information.)

We pick up where we left off as of Thursday night on the live feeds. It turns out that Nathan is not the only one annoyed with Alison's nominees. Erika and Jack aren't happy with her decision to nominate Jun either. They feel that Justin is a bigger threat (obviously) and that he is the one that needs to go. The three agree that if any of them win the Power of Veto that they will veto Jun.

Personally, I'd rather see Dana gone because I just don't think I can take another week of her. And I like Justin. He deserves some sort of medal or something for dealing with Alison (who knows what she did when she was with him!).

We learn a little bit more about Erika's past as she says that the PB&J diet is "just fine." Sometimes when she was in college, she would open her fridge and all she would have was sugar. She'd search around for pennies to buy some noodles. I guess her parents wouldn't send her any money so she sometimes ate just sugar for dinner.

Nathan and Alison are hanging out in the HOH room and she is denying that she made out with David. She's come to the conclusion that she should have broken up with her boyfriend before she went into the BB house. Ya think? She flirts a bit with Nathan and teases him by saying, "I know you want to touch me because I'm so desirable." Nathan answers with, "You've been touched by every man in this house! I don't want leftovers!" It's all lighthearted but still amusing AND true! Well, not EVERY single man in the house, but at least three by my count.

Erika and Alison are discussing the Power of Veto competition and how badly Dana is going to go after it. Alison agrees that if someone is taken off the block, she will nominate Justin. Finally!

Robert talks about how messed up his life became because of drinking but that he's going in the right direction now. Jun and Dana are making dares with each other. If Dana gets evicted she has to grab Jee's bum with both hands; if Jun gets evicted she'll do the same to Nathan. Dana says she'll have to think about it. Dana has also been campaigning to stay in the house and get Jun evicted. This doesn't sit well with Huey, Dewey, and Louie (HDL, Robert/Justin/Jee). Robert says they can't trust her. Justin agrees. They hope that Dana does not win the Power of Veto. If she doesn't, they'll vote her out. Robert also tries to sway Jun but she isn't buying it.

Ali, Jack, Nathan, and Erika are going over possible questions for the Veto competition. Nathan says it sucks because he hates depending on his brain. I wonder what he does depend on. I don't think they've been told what the competition will be but they must assume it will be questions on all the competitions to this point. Actually, they’ve been assuming that for several competitions in a row and haven’t been right yet.

Most of the evening is just general chit-chat and more discussion on how they MUST win the Power of Veto. Once in bed, Dana admits to having touched Justin's "package" outside. Apparently, it was just a tap, though. Sure, sure; a tap is a touch is a tap... whatever. Anyway, Jun, Jee, Dana, and Justin are all talking about last year's BB with Lisa and Eric. Dana says that her friends say she looks like Lisa. Jun tells her that, no, she doesn't. No kidding, Jun! I can't see Jack saying that Lisa has the sex appeal of a buzzard's crotch!

And with that and a little more talk of PB&J, they are all tucked in for bed and fast asleep.

It's Friday now in the Big Brother house and all minds are on the Power of Veto competition. I guess with nothing to do but sit around and wait, it would seem like a fairly large life moment. Honestly, it is more interesting this year with each POV being golden. They should have done that last year. I like the idea. [Editor’s Note: Of course, they did do it once last year, but the person who got it chose not to use it even though he was on the block. Well, this year’s crop might not be the sharpest knives in the drawer, but I bet they’re all smart enough to take themselves out of the nominations!]

As it turns out, it is a mental competition and who is victorious? Robert! Can you imagine? I never would have guessed he would win it. So now Dana's fate seems virtually sealed. I smile and think, only good can come of this.

Dana is apparently flipping out that she won't be saved with the POV. Is there anything Dana doesn’t flip out about? I can't even think about her, she aggravates me so much. All I can think is please, Robert, do not use that Veto! It doesn't look like he will. HDL are pretty tight. And I think Alison (if she was smart, hmmmm, not sure about that one) would make a secret alliance with Justin and ride that money train to the end.

I say that because on Friday night’s show, she discussed things with Justin that I hadn't seen or read on the live feeds and message boards. Specifically that she thought Nathan was gay. Is she playing Justin? Probably! Does she really think Nathan is gay? Probably not! (Or maybe she really does because he won’t take her up on her offer of “leftovers.”) But, Justin never (to my knowledge) told anyone, which means that he must, at least to some extent, trust Alison. At the very least, their conversations with one another are private – for the most part. And he did agree not to nominate her next week if he wins HOH, so that’s a start.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Alison and Justin at the end together, if they both play their cards right that is. Hell of a thing this EX factor.

That's it for now, I'll eavesdrop on the houseguests again tomorrow and fill you in on all the juicy details!
