Survivor: The Amazon’s Daniel Releases 2004 Calendarby Mike DeGeorge -- 08/19/2003
View Printable version of this article Daniel Lue, contestant on the recent Survivor: The Amazon, is used to turning heads. On the show, he fought with the brash, opinionated Roger, openly flirted with the women on the opposing team, and refused to follow anyone else’s lead, instead attempting to take control of the camp… his way. Now, following in the footsteps of fellow Survivors Jenna and Heidi, Daniel is turning heads by showing a little skin… his way. His newest project, a 2004 calendar featuring himself in a variety of provocative poses, will be released at the end of August. Daniel is no stranger to the spotlight. In 2001, he tried out for wrestling’s own reality show, WWE Tough Enough. While he was one of the final 25, he fell victim to the final cut in favor of eventual runner-up Josh Matthews. RealityNewsOnline spoke to Daniel about his Tough Enough experience at the time. Less than a year later, Daniel was once again chosen from thousands of applicants to appear on another reality show, this time taking part in the first ever “Battle of the Sexes” Survivor! After being voted out in episode three, failing in his power play against the hostile Roger, Daniel made nationwide headlines by winning a near-fatal bout with malaria, which he contracted while in the Amazon jungle! To learn more about Daniel’s time in the Amazon, check out RealityNewsOnline’s interview. Recently, RealityNewsOnline asked Daniel why he decided to release a calendar. “The calendar idea first came about when a fan asked if I would do something like that. Fans also said I had my shirt on too often on the show. At first I laughed it off, but then many more people asked, then a photographer approached me with the idea so then I thought ‘what the heck!’” All the pictures in the calendar are shot in exotic locations… in and around Houston, Texas. “I went to different places in Houston that had a very exotic look and feel, such as the Moody Gardens in Galveston, which has a rainforest display. It's amazing how real the rainforest display was... it felt like I was right back at the Tambaqui tribe.” Daniel has given us a taste of what the calendar is like by providing the cover photo: ![]() For those wondering what Daniel will be up to next, he says, “I will be moving to Los Angeles and pursue a few projects I have in the works.” RealityNewsOnline will be keeping in touch with Daniel, and we will be sure to tell all his fans about all his new projects.
