Big Brother 4, After the Live Show: Where’s Jun?!

by David Bloomberg -- 08/28/2003
After the live show ended, the four HouseGuests were left sitting around, waiting for Jun to come out of the Diary Room. What happened when she didn’t come out? And how does her disappearance play into the Veto competition? Read on to find out!!

As we left the live eviction show, we might have been wondering Why Jack Lost. But the HouseGuests were thinking about what was taking Jun so long in the Diary Room! They all twiddle their thumbs for a while and then Alison says the fact that Jun is gone so long is making her nervous.

Eventually, they figure out that Jun isn’t coming out of the Diary Room anytime soon. Some of the usual post-eviction discussions start, with Jee telling Alison that she should have been honest with him about who she was planning to vote out (yeah, ‘cus honesty is Alison’s strong point). Alison says that it wasn’t him that worried her, but Robert. Speaking of which, Robert doesn’t even want to talk to her. He goes to his room to mutter profanities about the women. But Alison and Erika discuss that they should keep Rob because he’s a weaker player than Jee.

Still no official info on Jun – Erika says that the next competition must be to find her! Alison makes a comment about how she read Julie Chen’s lips and could tell that she said something about Jun being gone. I must admit, I’m still a bit confused over that whole thing – how did she read her lips? Were they taping a segment for the Friday show? I dunno. In any event, Alison asks for entry to the Diary Room, which is granted. Obviously, no Jun there. Alison immediately guesses that the rest of them will be on PB&J because Jun took some sort of deal to leave. Um. Yeah.

Rob and Jee talk and Jee says that at some point in the past, others have claimed that Rob said he was annoyed by Jee. This sends Rob into a rampage, saying they are trying to break up the Dream Team and that whoever it is, he’ll call them out! He calls the three remaining women “bitches” and “whores” and other similar names. Jee tries to calm him down by reminding him that it’s just a game. He notes that Dr. Will didn’t need the money ‘cus he was a doctor, but he won by being a scumbag. Then Jason came along last year and was an angel, but lost. He further mentions that he knew they couldn’t trust Alison from Day 1. Yeah. Sure. That’s why he didn’t put her on the block. Good job of 20/20 hindsight there, Jee.

The slamming occurs on the other side as well, as Alison tells Erika that Rob hates her (like this is some big shock). Erika says she knows. Alison says he’ll just have to deal with it because he’s gonna be living with her for the next two weeks. Erika calls him a “dumb ass baby.”

Alison’s “PBJ” theory is quickly shot down as Big Brother tells the HouseGuests that food will be arriving shortly. So it’s time for a new one. Erika thinks that Jun is probably just outside the house watching them for an hour or so. The food arrives and some wonder if they should save any for Jun. Jee says there really is only enough for four. Hmmm. Otherwise, it’s mostly awkward silence at dinner. The guys head out to the backyard and avoid the women.

Alison and Erika both agree they will still try to win Power of Veto because you never know what Jun might end up doing. Alison thinks this will be the last Veto because last year, Marcellas won the final veto when there were five people left. She really studied this game! Of course, she doesn’t mention that Marcellas was stupid enough to think he was safe and didn’t use it on himself, thus (along with other reasons), immediately earning himself an induction into the Reality TV Hall of Shame. Alison further relates to Erika how adamant Rob was that Erika needed to go, claiming that Erika had been plotting against her.

Jee comes out of the house with a menu for each player to fill out – three items they would like to see stocked. Hey! Jun’s name isn’t on it. Hmmm. And then a “Missing Persons” type poster with Jun’s picture on it shows up in the backyard.

The Veto competition is to figure out where Jun is. The first person to guess where she is wins! They get a clue today, and then two tomorrow. The first one to ring a bell in the backyard and guess the right answer wins. They can only ring the bell once – if they’re wrong, they’re out. Thursday night the answer will appear on the plasma TV (probably showing Jun live from the MTV awards). If nobody gets it right, Jun wins the Power of Veto herself!

The first clue is that there is a big apple in the yard. Gosh, that’s a tough one. They immediately figure out NYC. But Rob insists there is no way they’d fly her out there! She must be somewhere close! Alison says they can’t fly her out there, as there wouldn’t be time for nominations. How long does she think an airplane flight takes?!

Still, they focus on the NYC aspect. Rob grills Jee on what’s going on in NYC while Erika does the same with Alison. At one point, Alison mentions the Radio City Music Hall, which is indeed where the MTV awards will be held! But she blows right by it.

Eventually they all realize they’ll need another clue. Talk turns to you, dear readers – the internet fans! Erika had the free week trial of live feeds but found it boring. Heh. Alison says we probably hate her and think she’s a slut. Ding! Give that woman a cee-gar!

On that note, after a bit more chatter about the former HouseGuests who have since left, they mostly drift off to sleep…
