by David Bloomberg -- 08/29/2003
The second and third clues as to Jun’s whereabouts come in and the HouseGuests make their guesses. Will any of them get it right and win the Power of Veto?

Thursday begins with a continental breakfast as some of the HouseGuests wonder if Big Brother thinks that with Jun gone, nobody else knows how to cook! After a lockdown, it’s time for the next food competition. Since Jun is, indeed, still gone, Big Brother puts Rob in charge. He takes them to the Desert Room as they change, “No more PBJ!”

The room is filled about waist-high with yellow and red plastic balls of the type you would find in a kids “ball pit.” Some of the balls are labeled with food items, and the HouseGuests must find them and put them into a tube in alphabetical order, within the allotted time. They get a ton of stuff so they’re happy. Then they play in the balls a bit and Alison finds one they didn’t get – beer!

After all the ball pit fun is done, the HouseGuests talk a bit about how much they hate Dana. Robert and Jee are enjoying their time without Jun in the house and Jee even offers to Big Brother that he’ll go back on PB&J for a week if they don’t bring her back!

Eventually, they get their second clue as to the whereabouts of Jun. (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you need to catch up with what happened after the live show.) That clue is a videotape. OK, so a big apple and a videotape. They all seem perplexed and at first nobody is sharing any thoughts on it. But wait! Alison asks Erika where the MTV awards are held. Erika thinks that CBS is somehow affiliated with MTV. Still, Erika doubts that is the answer.

Nobody seems willing to use up their one shot at a guess, so they await the third and final clue. Jee has no idea but Erika reassures him that is in the same boat (Alison only shared her thoughts with Erika).

In the meantime, Jun is on MTV! When asked if she has anything to say to her fellow HouseGuests, she says, “I’m here and you’re not!”

Now the third clue arrives. It’s a spacesuit! Remember that was one of the original MTV promo commercials, and it’s also on the statues given to award-winners.

Rob rings the bell and heads to the Diary Room to guess. Jee rings the bell and goes to guess – saying something about the space needle in Seattle before heading in. Why the heck did it take Alison so long to figure it out? She eventually guesses, but she still doubts that it could possible be the MTV awards because it’s too public and there is no way the producers could keep people from talking to her. However, Erika recalls that somebody from BB1 went to the Emmys, so obviously they could pull it off if they wanted to.

They are called to the living room and apparently get to see Jun on TV. Rob had guessed Space Mountain, Jee had indeed guessed the Space Needle. But Alison got it right – she wins Power of Veto! Even though she won the Veto, Alison is still jealous that Jun got to go the awards show and see Britney Spears and Madonna make out. Um. Yeah. Ick.

So they begin to speculate when Jun will return to make her nominations. Rob says that if he sticks around and wins HOH next week, he’ll put up Jun because she already has votes for her in the jury. (From who?)

With that and some general muttering from Rob about how Jun didn’t deserve to go, they head off to sleep.
