The Amazing Race 4: An Interview with Jon & KellyPage 2View Printable version of this article RNO: Jon, was there any other reason besides not getting your underwear dirty as to why you did the last roadblock in the buff? Jon: No, and I knew CBS wouldn’t have to do too much editing because I’m hung like a pimple. RNO: In episode three, when you slid down the snowy hill on your rears when you were supposed to use rafts, how much did that hurt? Kelly: A lot. Jon: Have you ever had a frozen enema? RNO: You said that the race made you stronger as a couple. Do you feel that the race crippled anyone as a team or their relationship in general? Kelly: Even we felt a little bit of pressure on our relationship. Having people analyze how you are and if you belong together really can get to you. That’s why we only read your articles, Phil. Jon: I think it hurt most of the teams, except Debra and Steve. RNO: I know you have so many fun moments from the race, but what was the one single thing that really made you smile and realize what kind of experience you were having, in other words, what was your favorite moment of the race? Kelly: Mine was the poo pile in Amsterdam. Until that moment, I had never gagged and laughed at the same time. Jon: I have to agree with Kelly on this one. We had a lot of fun that leg. RNO: I understand that the relationship that you had with Reichen & Chip was purely out of fun and not spite. However, you made several cracks on Millie & Chuck. Do you regret them now, or is it still funny when you think about it? Kelly: We apologized to them for hurting their feelings. Jon: I still think it’s hilarious! Some of those shots of Chuck on the train looked right out of “Thriller.” RNO: Out of curiosity, is there a date for the wedding yet? Jon: Yes, on our five-year anniversary in the spring. Kelly: But it won’t be a fancy, schmancy one! RNO: Is there anything else you would like to add or say to any of your fans. Me being one of your biggest, we want you to know you did an awesome job running the race! Kelly: Well, I just finished a children’s book about what I took away from the race and it’s in the publishing process. Hopefully it will be out soon. I would, also, like to say how much I love you, Phil, and thanks for sticking by us. Jon: Yeah, I love you too, Phil, in a heterosexual male kind of way, and thanks to all our fans, if we have any more. RNO: Thank you both so much for taking time out of your busy schedules to answer my questions. You know I’m a huge fan and it means so much to me. You two did great and it was a blast to meet you at TARCon. I was so happy to see that you two were just as funny in person as you were on the show, and such nice people! Good luck in the future!
