House of Dreams, Episode 7: Letters from Home and Messages from Godby Paris Cosby -- 02/19/2004
View Printable version of this article Tony's off the see the doctor today, due to his shoulder injury from last week's episode. He is talking about how he doesn't have a home... again! While I feel bad that he doesn't have a home, I'm sick of hearing about it. Yes, Tony, we know! Geez! Matt feels Tony is the biggest threat due to his being homeless. Rochelle won't be upset to see him go. She feels bad about it but it gets him out of the way without her having to oust him. Mike tells a few of the girls that he wouldn't give Tony the house. Apparently, neither would Viveca. She feels, "Houses are not allocated to need. There are organizations that give houses to needy people; House of Dreams is not one of them." Ouch! And they said Wanda was the one with the sharp tongue. Jim and Flor are being quiet and laying low today. Now they know what it's like to be on the other end of the stick. It seems as though they may be losing power. Rochelle isn't buying the fact that Flor is upset that Wanda's gone. She thinks it's because her game plan is messed up now and she's feeling the pressure. We're off to the house already! Today they will be finishing some of the drywall - taping it to be exact. That is actually pretty hard to do. It looks easy but it's not! In fact, whoever built my house did a terrible job! The tape is starting to coming off in some areas. It looks horrible! Hopefully these guys will do a better job. Joe says a few mistakes have been made but they're only minor, nothing major. Again with Tony now being the biggest threat. Naomi hopes he's well but not well enough to come back to play! Ha! Another sharp tongue in the bunch! Tony does show up and will, in fact, going back to work. So much for those dreams of getting rid of him right away. The doctor gave him the okay. Tony thinks a few people are happy to see him back, but a few others aren't happy to see him at all. The builders manage to finish mudding and taping a few rooms. And very quickly now, it's key time! Rochelle gets her free pass through the door because she was not eliminated last week. Jim gets to try his key first. He's a bit nervous but he makes it through the door. That's too bad, isn't it? Ha! John's up trying, he's still trying, it's not going to fit. John is the first red hat. Viveca gets her turn now. And, just like that... 1, 2, there are this week's red hats - John and Viveca. Everyone else gets to pass through the door safely. Another non-exciting key ceremony for the record books. Back at camp, some of the builders are talking about deadlocking the vote so that they can get rid of either Flor or Jim. That sounds like one hell of a good idea to me! John's plan, being a red hat, is to have no plan. None of them seem to have plans when they come up for eviction. I don't understand that. We also learn that Viveca has two Ivy League degrees - one from Harvard and one from Yale. Now she's a juggler. Things that make you go "hmmmm." There really is no other way you can respond to that statement. Just, "Hmmmm." Anyway, she wants the house as a retreat for half the year. The other half of the year she'll spend in New York doing what she has determined is important in life. Exactly what that is, I have no idea. Juggling, I guess. Viveca is an odd one. John says in an interview that he wants people to see him as a person and not so much as a cop. It's nice for him to be there where he can get to know some of the better side of society. Like he couldn't meet them anywhere else, and I'd like to know when Flor and Jim became part of the better side of society. John also tells us that he's a single dad. He misses his son terribly but at the end of this, he could have a house for him so it's all worth it. Matt thinks seeing John leave would be better. He's too close to Rochelle, and it's becoming too tight of an alliance with the two of them. Tony and John also have an alliance, in John's mind anyway. John wants to see himself and Tony at the end. Their relationship is based on their religion. However, Tony believes in his heart that God told him John got a key today and that's who he needs to vote off. Ummm, okay. I'm sure God has other things to do. So much for goodness and friendship and all that. Sherrill says he doesn't know how he is going to vote. Rochelle and Mike think he wants to deadlock. Sherrill basically says he'll vote the way they want him to. They would like to get rid of Flor, figuring she has more power and it would easier for her, as a woman, to have someone back her up. Mike, Sherrill, Naomi, and Rochelle want to deadlock. A quick cut to Flor and Jim. Flor loves to see people squirm a bit, she thinks she's evil. I think she's a whore. Flor the Whore. Ha! Oh, you knew it was coming! Okay, back to the game... John's not counting his chickens before they hatch. Tony really thinks God is testing him to see how much he wants the house. I think it's just a way for him to get out of his guilt of voting off John - or something. I'm thinking Tony is a bit odd at this point. It's day twenty-six, and the builders are starved for outside communication. You know this is leading up to some communication from the outside world, don't you? And, just like we thought, the red hats receive a note that there are letters from home. However, there is a twist! There are 10 letters but only 4 may be delivered. The red hats each need to choose two to be delivered. The rest will be destroyed and not opened. Viveca wants to choose by thickness, but hers is the thickest. She really, really wants her letter. John isn't going to take his own letter. View Printable version of this article |
