The Restaurant Taken off NBC’s Menu… For Nowby Betsy Wasser -- 05/16/2004
View Printable version of this article The second season of NBC’s The Restaurant has not been the ratings success that the first season was. Last week’s episode, for example, scored a 4.7/8 share and was slaughtered by CSI: Miami which turned in ratings of 13.2/22. As a result, NBC has yanked The Restaurant from its schedule effective immediately. The show will be replaced with Crime & Punishment. But fear not, Restaurant fans – we will see how the second season ends. NBC plans to pick up the show again starting on Wednesday, June 9, at 9:00 Eastern time. Because that would mean a serious lag between the most recent episode and the new one, NBC will rerun the old episodes until they’re caught up, then will air the two remaining new episodes. The CSI shows are a ratings juggernaut, so perhaps they were too much for The Restaurant to compete with. Perhaps the show will fare better in the summer, without new episodes of CSI to compete with. We’ll find out in June. Betsy is the Associate Editor of RealityNewsOnline and can be reached with any comments at betsyw42@hotmail.com.
