Big Brother 5, August 22 Live Feeds: On the Block... Kinda Like Jesusby Sting7 -- 08/23/2004
View Printable version of this article It’s Sunday, and an irritable Big Brother wakes up the houseguests irritably and generates irritable houseguests, featuring a especially foul Diane who goes on a rant about the pre-Big Brother house sequestration hotel. She found the accommodations less than pleasing, let’s say. Marvin agrees. The houseguests’ Amazon.com purchases have arrived, and everyone is abuzz with excitement. After a lot of matriculation, they install a water volleyball net. Marvin and Drew drool over the BowFlex. Marvin and Michael talk a little strategy, Marvin notes how Adria and Natalie are so proficient in the athletic events, something cerebral would be their downfall. Michael keeps missing Marvin’s point somehow (or pretends to), and adds he would have rather kept Will in the house than Karen. Marvin goes on another rant about Karen and how he doesn’t believe the things she says. Drew joins the conversation and wonders if they should all throw HOH and make Karen win (they all believe she throws competitions). Marvin and Michael ixnay that idea immediately. Marvin asks Michael who he’s voting for. Michael doesn’t know yet. Who does he want to see leave? Silence. Drew breaks the silence with a joke, but Marvin cocks an eyebrow at Michael. Marvin asks Michael whether he thinks Adria will use the Power of Veto. Michael says that if Adria uses it to save herself, it will show she “has balls.” But, if she uses it to save Natalie, it would be very selfless of her. Marvin waves that off, he’s sure the twins will split the money no matter what. (They’ve pretty much said that.) One winning is as good as the other. Adria and Natalie make a foot spa of the bathtub, they ask Diane to join them. Diane mumbles a refusal and heads outside to kvetch with Marvin and Nakomis. They attack her then they want her to play foot spa with them? Please. They discuss Michael. Marvin says he doesn’t trust him, he won’t commit. Diane says she won’t even speak in front of him anymore, he’s so shady. Nakomis says he wouldn’t be “Cowboy” if he didn’t sit on the fence, now would he? Two points for Nakomis. But, even Nakomis admits that if you ask Michael what color the sky is, he’ll ask you what color you think it is. Karen tells Nakomis she got the foot spa invite as well, she also turned it down. Karen is worried that Adria will use the Power of Veto. Nakomis is not worried. If Adria uses it, she’ll replace whoever with Michael, and hopefully, he’ll be okay (if not, no loss). Karen thinks he’ll understand (it will also push him off that fence). Karen feebly offers she wishes she won HOH so she could have put him up. Doubt that. Adria and Natalie are in full strategy mode. Adria’s crying again. They complain that Nakomis broke her own rule – she said she wouldn’t put the twins up (back at the pinky swear when Adria promised she wouldn’t put Will up either!!! Are they kidding?). Natalie thinks she can call upon the all girl alliance again and get Nakomis to put Marvin up. They also wonder how much they can trust Michael. Michael apparently said something about his loyalty to Drew from day one, so if he’s that loyal to Drew, he won’t be able to send Drew out the door, as he would eventually have to, so what’s he saying? Good question. Natalie says they should offer Nakomis a free ride to top 3. Marvin would never make that offer. (Probably not!) Adria says they have to get Nakomis to understand that Will had to go because he was after them, she did what she had to. It had nothing to do with Nakomis (that won’t fly). They also wonder if they can get Diane back to their side. It doesn’t look like it will be easy to do. Adria, for Natalie’s sake, is not saying what she plans to do with the Veto. Then she goes on this rant about how *she* never pinkie swore, it was Natalie who did that, (well all of us, Julie Chen, and CBS were fooled because that was during Adria’s time in the house). In a discussion about dinner, Karen mentions she’ll pass on the Omaha steaks. Drew asks where is Omaha? (Oh come on!) Karen says Nebraska. That leads to them trying to name the states in alphabetical order. Then state capitals. In Drew’s world, the capital of Nebraska is Salt Lake City. Thought you should know. Natalie manages to corner Diane and has a very passionate conversation, feed audio is horrible, but it ends with Natalie saying to Diane that Diane should come to Natalie if she wants to know anything. Diane says she knows that. Natalie reports to Adria about her discussion with Diane. Natalie says she said she always believed in Diane’s judgment to do the right thing and Natalie has no problem with her no matter what happens this week. She also said that she feels like she is always going to Diane to talk and Diane should feel free to initiate sometime. Natalie also gives herself a stroke by saying Diane said Natalie was too strong and can read her like a book. I didn’t hear that, and contextually, it didn’t fit into the conversation I heard! A Junebug lands on the hot tub, and the houseguests proceed to “tag” it and amuse themselves with it. These folks are bored! Meanwhile, Karen gives the camera a lesson on how to choose a good melon.
