Last week, eight teams left Sweden and headed to Senegal. Kendra was unsettled by the locals’ way of life, while Don & MJ embraced it. A fishy detour led to Don and Hera getting seasick, while a question of money brought Lori & Bolo face to face. MJ brought Don to tears during the very physically demanding Roadblock, and while they ended up in last place, they were lucky enough to find that it was a non-elimination leg, although they did lose all their money. There are still eight teams left, who will be eliminated next? First, let me reintroduce you to the remaining teams:

Jon & Kris – Dating long distance/Sentimental Favorites

Jonathan (Crazy) & Victoria – Married entrepreneurs/On a one-way road to divorce after the race

Lori & Bolo – Professional wrestlers/Need to have a match themselves

Hayden & Aaron – Dating actors

Freddy & Kendra – Dating models/Kendra has issues

Adam (Sissy) & Rebecca – Previously dating/Rebecca runs the team

Gus & Hera – Father and daughter

Don & Mary Jean (MJ) – Grandparents/Sentimental Favorites

We begin this week on the coast of Senegal, the center of the European slave trade. Teams arrived here for a mandatory rest period at the end of the last leg. Don & MJ weren’t eliminated, but lost all their money. Will they be defeated because of this, or will their determination help them to remain in the race?

Kris & Jon were the first team to arrive at 12:52 p.m., so they are the first team to depart at 12:52 a.m. Their clue tells them to find the Slave House for their next clue. Kris says that they don’t want to form any alliances, and believe in each other. I believe in them too! Besides being Sentimental Favorites, I’ve predicted them to win the race. They make such a cute couple!

At 2:19 a.m. (Wow, Jon & Kris were THAT far ahead?) Crazy & Victoria leave the Pit Stop. Crazy tells the camera that he’s upset they keep coming in second, and should be in first. At the same time, Lori & Bolo also head out. Lori says that they have been together for eight years now, and love each other even though they bicker. One minute later, Hayden & Aaron leave as well. Hayden says that she’s been snippy at times, but really does love Aaron. Is it me, or is Hayden looking like a horse more and more each leg of the race? I think I’m going to start calling her Klip-Klop.

It’s now 2:21 a.m. and Freddy & Kendra are leaving the Pit Stop. Freddy says that they wanted to be low key and have no alliances, but they do have one with Hayden & Aaron, who they meet up with to start looking for the Slave House. At 2:22 a.m. Adam & Rebecca head out as well. He says that they’ve been lucky thus far, and need to have more confidence in one another as racers. Well, yeah Adam – that makes sense, but it’s YOU that needs more confidence, Rebecca is doing just fine!

At 2:45 a.m. Gus & Hera head out. Gus says that this time with Hera has made him see that she has blossomed, and that’s she’s very driven. Finally, at 4:28 a.m., Don & MJ leave the Pit Stop. Don says they are just going to have to deal with having no cash, but MJ thinks they will be just fine.

Jon & Kris get to the Slave House and read a scroll. The other teams do the same. At 8:30 each team is to place a single rose at the archway of the house, in tribute to all the slaves that passed through there. In the morning, the line opens. We see each team place their rose, and when it’s Gus & Hera’s turn, Gus begins to cry. Hera gives him a hug, and then they head out. Gus says he didn’t cry at his parent’s funeral, but the connection with the Slave House moved him to tears. He hopes the others can realize the magnitude of the situation.

Each team opens their clue, which tells them to take the ferry back to the mainland, then catch a plane to Berlin, Germany. Once there, they must find the part of the Berlin wall that is still standing. Each team gets to the ferry, and just miss one. Don & MJ know they need to make money, but can’t ask the locals since they know they themselves have next to nothing. Shockingly, Crazy is the first person to give them some money, as do most of the other teams. Actually, all the teams end up giving them something, some give more than others. Meanwhile, Crazy gets help from a local as the teams are boarding the ferry. He seems to be good at that.

Everyone gets in taxis and heads to the airport, and everyone seems to be stuck in traffic. Kendra begins to berate the people and the land, after she was just at a very emotional place, and doesn’t understand why the people there continue to “breed.” Could her ignorance be any more apparent?
