High School Reunion 3, Episode 3: Mystery Meetby Tyler Sandersfeld -- 12/23/2004
View Printable version of this article Tonight’s episode starts with news of yet another secret admirer note to Loretta. By now, the suspicion on the identity of the author has reached every nook and cranny of the estate. John and Brian A. joke about the letters. If only Jaime was a big joke. She hopes it’s not Gianni, otherwise she’ll be ticked. She says Gianni should be afraid to date in front of her, and can’t believe Gianni would date Loretta like he did. GET OVER IT! John pulls out an old yearbook and they regale over the pictures and memories in the book. One such memory is Kristian Fung-Chok, who had three strikes against him: he was a nerd, he was fat, and he had a funny name. The classmates start joking about him. I wonder if he’s one of the nerds the constant spoilers mention. Nikol finds another Hall Pass on her bed, giving her a second chance with her first love. After hearing this, Jim says, “Is he here?” I don’t know, are you? Nikol leaves for the cottage first and cooks dinner for the two of them. Jim leaves later, mentioning that he’s still nervous about starting this relationship again. He also says the two never had sex. Foreshadowing alert! Nikol and Jim aren’t the only two concerned about Nikol and Jim. Eze is very nervous about a possible permanent reunion between the lovebirds, since he still wants a chance with Nikol. Jen also wants another chance with Jim, especially since he’s with Nikol now. Oh, brother. Jim and Nikol get together at the cottage and relax on an outdoor couch. As they talk, Jim says he doesn’t want sex with Nikol just to have sex with Nikol. He wants to have sex with Nikol if there is a genuine connection between the two. Good man. He reiterates the break-up that happened senior year after the Homecoming Dance. If I said prom before, my bad. Loretta starts wondering about the secret admirer letters again. She’s talking to John this time. She thinks it may be John since he was flirting with her, but she just can’t be sure. She says it could be a really shy guy who’s too afraid to come up front, like Eze or Brien M. It could also be a guy who’s sure of himself and wants to be different, like Brian A. She just does not know. As much as I try to ignore her, Jaime’s on again. She’s saying that Gianni’s afraid of her. I’m afraid of you, too! She obviously has some feelings for him, though, so I can’t fault her for that. Gianni, on the other hand, says his feelings for her are in the past, so Jaime should just move on. Jaime then goes nuts. She starts saying affectionately sarcastic stuff like she’s never seen Gianni before that very moment. She believes Gianni will come back to her any day. GET OVER IT!!! Good grief! We go back to Jim and Nikol talking together. Everything they say is old news. They start kissing, so the scene isn’t so boring after all. We get to know Brian A. a bit more now. He was the meathead in high school, and the scenes they show don’t deter from that image. He talks about fake boobs, jokes about sleeping with Jaime (nice try), and generally acts like, as John puts it, a loud, obnoxious, drooling-over-the-ladies meathead. Brian says he came to this reunion to show he isn’t such a meathead anymore. He says he’s a complete gentleman now. Uh huh. Back to Jim and Nikol, where Jim says the relationship between the two is more exciting now than it was in high school. After a bit more talking, kissing, and fully-clothed grinding, Jim shuts the doors. We can only speculate what happens now, but I’ll give you three guesses. The morning after, they wake up next to each other, talk more about the reignited relationship, and head back to the estate. Jen doesn’t really care, however. She still wants her own chance with Jim. Likewise, Eze still waits for his chance to be with Nikol. Although they aren’t nearly as bad as Jaime, I still suggest they get over it. These two are together again, and they appear to be strong. Torie and Brien M. talk again. They mention again that they were very different in high school, and they’re still very different today. Torie is outgoing, and Brien is reserved. Brien thinks Torie is hot (duh), but he says he prefers personality and inner beauty. After talking with Torie, he thinks she has this inner beauty. Torie says she is having butterflies around Brien, and is attracted to him because he is so different. I think they’d make a great couple. It’s Group Hall Pass time! The guys get to go deep-sea fishing, and the girls head out for snorkeling, giving us plenty of gratuitous bikini shots. Not that I’m complaining… On their boat, the girls are trying to eke out any dirt they could from Nikol concerning the Hall Pass with Jim. Nikol tries to give some good, evasive answers. No one’s backing off, especially not Carin. “Give it up,” she says. Meanwhile, the guys try a little ribbing with Jim, but it’s not nearly as bad as girls. View Printable version of this article |
