Heather made it to the screen-test round on Wickedly Perfect. How did she make it onto the show? What does she have to say about the landscape challenge? Read on to find out the answers to these and many other questions!

RealityNewsOnline: Thank you for doing this interview! We love getting inside information. How did you hear about Wickedly Perfect?

Heather: One day I was sewing away to fill an order and I had the TV on. I heard on CNN they were looking for the next Martha Stewart. I ran over to the TV to get the details. I then went to CBS’s website everyday for about three weeks till finally they let you do an online application. I sent my application in and they replied asking for a video. So I sent in the video. I was told my video was the very last one they received.

RNO: Which challenge was your favorite?

Heather: It was a toss-up for my favorite challenge – either the screen test or the living art.

RNO: Which challenge was the most difficult for you?

Heather: The landscape challenge was the most frustrating challenge, in my opinion. Of course, when you make something and it does not work out as planned and you feel you have let your teammates down, that is hard to deal with. I tip my hat to Darlene for saving the day in that one, with her incredible talents.

RNO: Was there another competitor you connected with?

Heather: This is a tough question; there were many that I really connected with. I think overall, Amy and I got along best, as she and I could relate artistically and we shared a similar vision. Mitch was great, he kept me laughing. He and I always had great pep talks with one another and helped each other stay focused. Tim was also great; I learned a lot from him with his carpentry skills. I wish he was around for the landscaping challenge! Haha.

RNO: What did you learn the most? Which skill did you develop the most?

Heather: I would not say there was one particular skill that I developed more than another while on the show. The show surrounded me with a talented group of people, in which case you get to learn many things about everything you or someone else is doing.

RNO: If you could have picked the teams from the beginning, who would you have wanted to work with?

Heather: I loved my team. GO CRAFTY BEAVERS!

RNO: Which individual project were you most proud of?

Heather: My favorite individual project was the photo journal, where I drilled a hole into a stick and put an ink cylinder in it, then attaching it to the photo journal. Thanks to Tim on that one for showing me how to keep from cracking the pen while hollowing it out.

RNO: If you could, what would you have done differently during your screen test?

Heather: The screen test is a coulda-woulda-shoulda. Unfortunately, when we packed our bags for New York, I didn’t realize how stretched-out the neck hole [in my sweater] had gotten. So, to address the clothing choice I made, I knew that my sweater had become too risky for the event. So we pinned the back of the sweater with six safety pins, and when I reached over to shake Hannah’s hand with my introduction, all of them popped, and as I proceeded with the segment I felt my sweater slipping further down. Unfortunately, there was nothing I could have done to save that, and as a professional I had to continue. There were no take-twos for wardrobe malfunctions. As far as not bringing a sewing machine on the segment to sit behind, I had to make a personal judgment call. The machine I was using was having problems, and on a live segment you never want to be at risk of having your focal point not working. That is why I had sewn four different bags in the different stages. So I guess in short, I would have ordered a new sewing machine and a sweater on the fly!

RNO: What happened with the pagoda in the landscaping challenge?

Heather: Haha. The question everyone wants answered. Well, I could give you sugar-coated excuses on this one, but I will simply say, I am a human being. I made mistakes on judgment, and again I give credit where credit is due. Darlene did a great job making the meditation area. And to the rest of my teammates, they did a great job standing behind me in my attempt. Oh, did I mention my “Building a Pagoda 101” class starts next week?

RNO: Any regrets? Would you do the show again?

Heather: I have no regrets on anything I did on the show. I was true to myself, my style, my personality. I never jeopardized who I was to attain the prize. For that reason, I can hold my head and continue on my journey. The show has been great exposure for my clothing line, www.shrakeculture.com. All my clients loved watching each week to see what happened, and from that, business has gone up as I continue to move forward.

Also, I would like to invite people to my latest fashion show: BOHEMIAN SUNSET: LF is hosting and participating in a unique unveiling of 2005 Spring collections from Shrake Culture, LF, and European designers.
