Vonzell Solomon, "I’m Every Woman"

Randy - "You chose this song with the highest degree of difficulty, you started off a little rough, a couple of sharp parts... but yo man, you worked it out tonight!"

Paula - "I love you Vonzell, you rocked the house, I think you – this is the best performance so far tonight."

Simon - "Randy is right, it is one of the most difficult songs to sing, I think you were right on the edge vocally. I think you have the personality to sing a song like that, I don’t think anyone else could have got away with it, and I think you did get away with it tonight."

Sting7 - I agree with Randy and Simon, it is a damned difficult song to sing, the workout your vocal chords get trying to manage that half sing-half scream Chaka Khan has made millions with is not for the neophyte. There were definitely some mildly pitchy moments in there, but you have to congratulate Vonzell for having the guts to attempt such an ambitious song. I ain’t mad at her at all. Vonzell is trying to win this thing people.

Anwar Robinson, "September"

Randy - "Another good Anwar performance, started a little bit pitchy, was the bomb at the end, it was good dude it was good!"

Paula - "(to Randy) You have been somewhat hard on him when he has done some uptempo performances, (to Anwar) but I have to tell you – this was awesome, you had fun, this was a great song, you were in the moment up there, you threw all caution to the wind, that was a great performance from you."

Simon - "I don’t think it was as good as Paula thinks. As usual, it was a very good ending, but I have been to these Seventies Revival musicals before where someone gets up and just does a song from the seventies. And I don’t think it was a million miles away from that, I don’t think it was a winning performance."

Sting7- Personally, I’m annoyed that he didn’t try any of the falsetto parts. I mean, come on. You think of "September," you think of Philip Bailey and that impossible falsetto going "baw-dee-aw-dee-aw-dee-oh." Anwar stuck with the Maurice White parts and then Anwarized the whole thing. He was lost in the moment up there, Paula, but only a performer would recognize that. For the rest of us, it was kind of... much ado about nothing.

Bo Bice, "Vehicle"

Randy - "Bo Bice is definitely back... you know what I love about you when you sing the right song, I can hear you recording that song, being a record producer, I know exactly the kind of record, no guessing work about it – yes! Right on the money baby!"

Paula - "You’ve just proven, competition is back on... you pick the right song, I get chills."

Simon - "Bo, I think you’ve had two bad weeks, tonight I think you’ve had the only authentically good performance of the night."

Sting7- That is Bo! Whoever that was who phoned in "Freebird" last week, may we never see him again. This Bo is all man, he’s sexy, he masculine, he’s balls. I’m glad he’s back, I was worried about him. He will be nowhere near the bottom three tomorrow.

What a night of performances! No one really left me cold, everybody was leaving it all onstage. How do you chose between them? You expect it of me, and I won’t disappoint you:

Here’s how I think the voting should go tomorrow night:

1. Carrie

2. Bo

3. Vonzell

4. Constantine

5. Anthony

6. Scott

7. Anwar

Yep, I’m thinking Vonzell, Scott. and Anwar will be in the bottom three, and in a sad moment, Anwar will be leaving us. Hey! It’s a tough field, and for some Idols, it all comes down to what you did last night. Others seem to have a cushion, but not a deep one. Ask Bo.

Am I right? Join me tomorrow and we’ll see!
