by Betsy Wasser -- 08/22/2005

In the past three seasons of The Apprentice viewers have come to know and love Donald Trump’s two advisors, George and Carolyn. The two watch how the candidates perform in the tasks and report their findings to Trump. They grill candidates in the boardroom about failures and bad decisions and ultimately advise Trump on who will hear those fateful words “you’re fired.”

In the newest version of the show, star Martha Stewart will also rely on two trusted viceroys to help her find her next apprentice. NBC announced today that they are Charles Koppelman, Chairman of the Board for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, and Alexis Stewart, an advisor to MSLO who also happens to be Stewart’s daughter.

Stewart is excited to work with these two advisors. She calls them a “dynamic duo” and adds, "No one knows me better than Alexis and she understands my way of conducting business and dealing with people. Charles brings the expertise of a legendary entrepreneur to the conference room each week."

As Chairman of the Board for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Charles Koppelman was instrumental in forging relationships with SIRIUS Satellite Radio and with Rodale Publishing, the publisher of The Martha Rules: 10 Essentials for Achieving Success as You Start, Grow, or Manage a Business. He is also the Chairman and CEO of CAK Entertainment, Inc, a music and entertainment business. Charles has a great deal of experience in music publishing, working with such legendary artists as Carole King, Billy Joel, and Neil Sedaka. Koppelman says that being on The Apprentice has been the highlight of his professional career.

Alexis Stewart calls herself “the original Apprentice.” In fact, her first job was assisting her mother in her catering business, and she says, "Having contributed to almost every aspect of her business empire, I know first hand what it will take for one of these sixteen candidates to win the competition and I'm not afraid to call them out in the conference room." Alexis has also used her love of exercise and yoga to design and operate high-end fitness centers. She is currently developing Martha Stewart Living Radio.

The Apprentice: Martha Stewart premieres on September 21, 8-9 ET/PT on NBC. If you missed the previous announcement, you can click here to find out about the contestants.
