Battle of the Network Reality Stars, Episode 4: The Outcast Tribe?by Phil Kural -- 09/09/2005
View Printable version of this article Previously, like you care, our reality “stars” competed in football, the relay race and a soapbox derby. One team was going home. Mike Boogie freaked out, as did Nikki McKibbin when she caught a touchdown. Adam and Coral faced off, and it was Chris Russo and Gervase who raced to save their teams. In the end, Crazy Jonathan’s team that was eliminated. The amount of tears that I shed was actually less than zero. Although, it was sad to see Brittany Brower and Wendy Pepper leave. Oh well… As usual, Mike Adamle greets us to the show, informing the viewers that there are only 24 reality “stars” left. Tonight, they will play one another in inner tube polo, mechanical bull riding and the multi-legged race. The three teams meet before the competition begins though, and are told that they must vote out two members from their teams – one boy and one girl. All the teams head into their locker room to debate who is going home. First, we begin with Team Chip (green). In case you forgot, Team Chip consists of Matt Gould, Sue Hawk, Dr. Will, Chip & Kim, Nikki McKibbin, Theo, and Brian Worth. Chip, once again, wants Kim to be voted out. What does he have against his wife? Theo says the team should choose, and doesn’t want Kim to leave. Sue wants a silent vote, and that’s what they do. When the votes come rolling it, it’s Nikki and Brian who are voted out. Brian takes it with a grain of salt, but Nikki displays her anger by pouting, crying, and hitting things. Cue the eye roll. Sue says she’s glad it was Nikki, and although she was a good competitor, she was too much drama. I have to agree with Sue, only because I saw a drunk, cracked out Nikki McKibbin on Kill Reality last week, and it’s not fun to deal with. Team Coral is next, and they consist of Will Wikle, Coral, Gervase, Adam, Evan, Rachel Love Fraser, Melissa, and Tina Fabulous. Rachel says that she’s ready to go, and it’s for personal reasons. Everyone votes on the men, and Adam gets all the votes except for one. When Coral reveals who is going home, Adam wants to know what the score was, and she tells him all the votes were for him. He doesn’t look happy. Team Miz is last, which consists of Bradford, Richard, Ryan Starr, Mirna, Heidi, Valerie, Burton, and Miz. They do the voting this as well, and Valerie says there is an unspoken alliance to remove Mirna from the team. Mirna, in fact, is voted out, and Miz says it’s because she’s so dramatic. For the guys, it’s Bradford who gets the vote and he admits there are no hard feelings. Mirna says her team is so cut throat, as we see the camera pan to Ryan Starr, Miz, Richard, and Heidi, signaling they are the ringleaders. I find that quite hard to believe, since the only thing Ryan can lead are missiles since her boobs are huge targets. Richard doesn’t seem to care who is leaving and thinks everyone needs to get over it. We get to see the people who were voted out react to being out of the game, and Nikki wants nothing to do with anyone, Adam says he shouldn’t have called his team idiots, while Mirna is upset and pissed that people don’t accept her or her skills. Mike welcomes the teams to the first event, which is inner tube water polo. Team Miz will be facing Team Chip, while Team Coral will face… Team Underdog! That’s right, they are back – everyone that was just voted out will form a new light blue team. Adam likes his team, and they are fired up. Bradford is happy they have Brian Worth, while they all admit that Nikki is a fireball with tons of energy. Maybe it’s the speed. Meh. For this event, everyone will play. There will be one goalie, while the others will be on offense. Teams will play for three minutes, and each goal is a point. Melissa hates the water, while Burton and Miz says they will do well. Melissa adds that no blacks or Latinos play water polo, so their team will probably lose. What a great attitude, Melissa. You know the point system – first place gets 100 points, 75 for second, 50 for third and 25 pity points for the last placed team. The first match is Team Coral vs. Team Underdog. This event actually looks like fun, as Underdogs get the first point. They get the second point as well, thanks to Bradford. Rachel gets the third point for her team, and that’s the final score. Wow, I bet nobody would have expected that. Trishelle talks to the Underdogs, and their new captain, Bradford. He says they have nothing to lose, while Adam says it feels great to beat his old team, the same people who voted him out. The second match is Team Chip vs. Team Miz, and Team Chip has the early lead, with Team Miz scoring a point of their own. Team Chip scores another point, thanks to Theo, and while team Miz tries to tie it up, they fall short and Team Chip wins. The final match is then Team Underdog vs. Team Chip. Bob Guiney chats with Team Chip, and Chip says that they had to drop two people, which was sad, but their effective tool is to get along and have no negativity. Both teams think they are going to take this challenge. The final match begins and Team Chip gets the first point again, but Brian Worth actually scored it against his own team by getting ready to throw ball and making it go in his team’s net. Theo scores another point for team Chip, while Bradford gets a point for his team. Adam gets aggressive with Theo, so Theo throws the ball in his face. Good! Team Chip manages to get another point, and the final ends up being 3-1 in favor of Team Chip. Team Miz wins the consolation game and ends up with 50 points, while Team Coral gets the 25 pity points. 1 2 Next-->View Printable version of this article |
