Celebrity Fit Club 4, Episode 6: Mudpie-Eating Contestby Tyler Sandersfeld -- 09/19/2006
View Printable version of this article Previously on Celebrity Fit Club, Nick Turturro took up boxing, Erika Eleniak took up krav maga, and Angie Stone nearly gave up. The question is, does Angie earn a place alongside Osten Taylor, Cassandra Whitehead, and Kelly from Unan1mous in the Reality TV Hall of Shame? It sure doesn't look good. Harvey arrives in West Hollywood at 9:00 am on Day 66, waiting for Angie to show up and get their one-on-one exercise program underway. However, Harvey loses patience as by 9:55, Angie's case seems lost. Just as Harvey is ready to induct Angie himself, she shows up! Not only that, but she is fired up and ready to work out. And it's not just that day. All week she proves to be a whole new Angie. Harvey is proud of her, as am I. Here are the current numbers for easy reference: THE FATCRUSHERS BoneCrusher: 386 pounds at previous weigh-in; total weight loss 38 pounds; current target 3 pounds. Carnie Wilson: 173 pounds at previous weigh-in; total weight loss 15 pounds; current target 3 pounds. Nick Turturro: 160 pounds at previous weigh-in; total weight loss 15 pounds; current target 2 pounds. Erika Eleniak: 132 pounds at previous weigh-in; total weight loss 20 pounds; current target 2 pounds. HOT BUTTERED SOUL Tina Yothers: 164 pounds at previous weigh-in; total weight loss 29 pounds; current target 2 pounds. Vinny Pastore: 254 pounds at previous weigh-in; total weight loss 20 pounds; current target 3 pounds. Angie Stone: 213 pounds at previous weigh-in; total weight loss 13 pounds; current target 3 pounds. Ted Lange: 167 pounds at previous weigh-in; total weight loss 22 pounds; current target 2 pounds. It is now Day 72. All eight celebrities greet ANT, diet expert Dr. Ian Smith, psychologist Dr. Linda Megalopolis, or whatever it is, and drill sergeant Harvey Walden IV. Everyone is especially pleased to see Angie still there. Fittingly, Angie is the first to weigh in. The exercise program seems to have worked at first. Unfortunately, the CWAP says otherwise. Angie weighs 214 pounds, up one more pound from last week. Angie is understandably disappointed and surprised, since she has worked out so much and reportedly adhered to her diet. That being said, she apologizes to her fellow celebs and the panel for going on the defensive last week. She realizes now that she was not being picked on, but cared for. Plus, Angie is happy to lose her size-18 clothes for size-14. Linda sees a new strength in Angie, and Angie hopes to show the world that she and her fellow Fit Clubbers are real people, not just celebrities. Of course, that last word should be used a little more loosely. Despite Angie insisting on six, Harvey assigns a four-pound target. Time to flashback to Fit Camp. Oh, I missed this last week. And this week, ANT, wearing the fifth gayest cowboy ensemble I've ever seen (the first is in my closet; don't ask), describes this as "the Fit Camp from hell!" It's 106 degrees at Rancho Temescal, and high temperatures have a way of increasing pungency of certain materials. Especially a heaping pile of horse manure! The teams must fill sacks full of manure and bring it to a bin on a scale. The timer will stop as soon as a team reaches 300 pounds of poo. And they're off! Tina gets down and dirty with the pile, while Angie works harder than I've ever seen her! She also believes it will be faster to fill the bags only partway so the trek to the scales will be easier. The blue team, on the other hand, tries the huge-and-heavy method, delivering slower but with bigger results each time. In the end, the red team wins, but only by twelve seconds. The second part of the contest is a low crawl through mud, elbows and knees always down. The first groups has Crusher and Carnie vs. Vinny and Angie. Carnie finishes first with a time of 30 seconds. Crusher finishes at 50 seconds, Vinny at 57, and Angie, despite coming in last, shouldn't balk at 1:15. Next, Ted and Tina battle Nick and Erika. Nick adheres to the knees-and-elbows down rule and thus finishes last with a time of 38 seconds. Ted is a little more lax and finished at 18 seconds, the fastest of anyone. Erika finishes with 26 seconds and Tina with 29 seconds. Of course, super-competitive Nick has to complain about Ted "breaking the rules." After some more unintelligible yelling from Ted complaining about his missing butt, Ted claims that the only way to settle the debate is for Harvey to show how the low crawl is really done. And boy is he low! Harvey's basically eating the mud for dessert! After he finishes, he slathers Ted with mud and yells some more. Ted and Nick face off again and Ted wins again, much to Nick's chagrin. Ahh, fun times with drill sergeants. In the end, Nick need not complain as the blue team wins the challenge by 24 seconds and earns $2000 for their charity, the First Chance Variety House in Atlanta. However, the red team wins $2000 for their charity, the Hollenbeck Youth Center of East Los Angeles, as well. In the end, it is a winning day for everyone, especially Angie. Back to the weigh-in now, and Tina Yothers is the next to go. So far, Tina is in the lead for the highest percentage of weight loss and close to winning the 2007 Camry Hybrid. However, Erika is not far behind, so Tina better deliver this week. And Tina delivers express-style at 161 pounds, which is a three-pound weight loss! Not only has Tina lost 16.5% of her starting weight, she has also reached the same size of clothing she wore on Family Ties when she was just 16! Thanks to a mini-flashback, we see Tina fitting into her wedding dress. Either her closet has a moth infestation, or her dress was that showy to begin with. Though she's only three pounds from her overall goal, Tina still wants to lose fifty pounds total. That's a tall order, but maybe her four-pound target can help her. 1 2 Next-->View Printable version of this article |
