Survivor: Cook Islands – Who Will Go in Episode 3?

by Wesley Rice -- 09/28/2006
CBS promos hint that there will be a tribal shakeup this week. That news makes things especially complicated for our predictor, Wesley. Who will go? We can be pretty sure it’s not immunity holder Yul (right), but other than that, it’s hard to say. Read on to see what Wesley predicts. This article contains no spoilers.

What? Who's there? Yes, I'm back. Your friendly, neighborhood Survivor prognosticator has returned. And so sorry that I'm late. Circumstances beyond my control have detained me from the start of my regular predicting duties. However, I can assure you that had I been here, I surely would have picked Sekou and Billy to go first. No really. They would have... gone... first... uh. So, what now? Who's next?

Well, let's not forget that every article I write is completely devoid of spoiler material. The only reference I use to make my predictions are based on the previous episode and whatever commercial previews might show up on CBS. That said, it looks like there will be a merger. Ahhh, how nice. They waited twice as long for a merger than they did last season. A whole TWO episodes this time.

I can't tell much from the preview commercials, but I think I saw Cao Boi (awesome name!), Ozzy, Yul, and Courtney... uh, I mean Jessica on the same tribe. I also noticed Stephannie and Nathan together on the other. Of course, that doesn't tell me much, except for the fact that there are at least two new tribes (and maybe a third)?

So let's say for a moment that there are only two. I think that Cao Boi and Court--uh, Jessica will likely fit together well, so there might be some new alliance-making that will cause each to be more sure of their position.

Likewise, Yul will be safe due to his quickly discovered immunity idol (was anybody else kind of disappointed he'd found it so easily?). If I were Burnett, rather than bury it somewhere on that tiny little island, I would have placed it offshore a ways, with clues eventually suggesting the need to go diving to find what they seek.

But I digress. Look! Rabbit trail! Given how few people we've seen, and based upon the knowledge that Ozzy already tends to rub some tribemates the wrong way (Bad Ozzy!), I'm predicting that Ozzy will be the first one booted from his new tribe.

But what about the other tribe? Stephannie, Nathan, and some others. I don't think Stephannie will be leaving. She'll plug herself in somewhere. And Nathan works hard, but he's non-threatening at the moment, so nobody should target him. So my bold prediction is that it must be one of the others! Tada! Brilliant guesswork, huh? Seriously, though, if I were to make a guess it would have to be based on something totally random (like perhaps the Survivors’ online bios). Which leads me to this week's boot from the other tribe, J.P.

I know. I know. Wait, you say! For the love of Chenbot! How do we even KNOW that J.P. will BE on the other team. That's easy, though. Obviously they're going to try to split up "pairs" during the merger. It's just more interesting that way. So I imagine that J.P. will end up on the opposite team. from Ozzy. But just as Ozzy will be leaving from his side of the tribes tonight, so will J.P. if his team loses.

Seriously! I mean, for Sampras' sake, in his online bio, he states his favorite book as "No favorite," preferring instead to wile away his precious time reading such stalwart publications as GQ and Maxim. From this English teacher's perspective, that's enough to get a guy booted off the island in a matter of moments.

So, quick recap. If Tribe A loses immunity, then Ozzy will say see ya later. If Tribe B loses immunity, then J.P. will be headed home.

Am I right, or will I just have to deal with the fact that I have no clue who's being booted this week? Stay tuned this Thursday with me to find out! Then come back next week when the picture is clearer with distinct tribes and annoying tribe members to boot.
