Surviving the Early Show: Cecilia’s Interview

by David Bloomberg -- 09/29/2006
As occurs every week, Cecilia was on The Early Show for a brief interview segment. What did she have to say? What was the new secret scene and who was she flirting with in it? Read on to find out!

Cecilia appeared on The Early Show this morning, as all Survivor cast-offs do. The segment is introduced with the host saying Cecilia could not overcome the deal-making and backstabbing of tribemates. That about sums it up!

The host continues that she is surprised to see her there, as she thought she’d be talking to Becky. I am forced to agree again. Cecilia says that’s what the plan was. They had five people and a strategy, but people quit. “You have to stay with the program!”

So what happened with Cao Boi and Jessica? Cecilia says she and Ozzy had an alliance, and Cao Boi was targeting Becky because she’s a princess. Cecilia says she spent a lot of time with Jessica, letting her know she liked her as a person, etc. But she thinks Jonathan did a good job of cornering Jessica.

How did she feel about the tribes being broken up along racial lines? She says it was such a non-issue to her. It seemed natural to her because you most likely grow up with people who look like you. It made sense to her.

However, she does say that some players had felt uncomfortable at the segregated tribes and were happy for the shuffle. But she didn’t, and loved her original tribe.

This week, we get a previously-unbroadcast Survivor secret scene from when the players were still on the original tribes. We see Cecilia and J.P. flirting and snuggling at night. Doesn’t much add to anything on the show, so I see why they left it off!

When they come back to Cecilia live, she says it was all innocent, but “did you see all that muscled goodness he has on him? … How can you not cuddle up to him?” Unfortunately, J.P. didn’t make it to her shuffled tribe, so all the flirting was for naught.

So what’s next for her? She’s going to find out what makes her happy. It’s not about the money, but about life experiences and people.

There we have it for The Early Show. But immediately following, I spoke to Cecilia and asked her many more questions that were much more interesting, if I do say so myself! You can click over to my interview with her right now!
