The weigh-in is made suspenseful because Ken goes last. Before him, it looked like it could go either way. It turns out that picking Marty to sit out was a good but not optimal choice, but it doesn’t matter in the end. Even if his numbers were included, the Red Team still wins. And major creds to Heather, who cracked the 200 barrier tonight!

During the weigh-in, Red Team’s Wylie confides, “We lose the weigh-in tonight, I’m gone. That’s the simple truth and the girls are brutally honest about it.” Post-weigh-in, Red Team’s Pam credits trainer Kim for the victory.

As the biggest percentage loser on the losing Blue Team, injured Brian is exempt from elimination. He really has shown that while injured, one can adjust a workout to still be effective.

As the trainers arrive to find out the results, Kim insists on first telling them how proud she is of them. Upon learning they won, she has hugs or high-fives for everyone. Heather’s cameo tells us the team was “super-excited to see Kim.” Kim says, “I needed this and they needed this. We could not have afforded to have lost anyone on this dysfunctionally functional team.”

Meanwhile, back at the ranch house, Bob can tell right away his team didn’t win. Addressing the upcoming elimination, he tells them, “It’s the hardest thing to do eliminations. I just hope that you guys go through this wisely and communicate with one another, talk to each other, and you guys stay in the driver’s seat here.” That’s a not-so-subtle hint that they need to avoid the tie vote. Bob tells them they are a strong group and he is proud to be with them.

As the Blue Team files into the Elimination Room, one notes that unlike last week with the Red Team, the genders are sitting intermingled.

Immune Brian votes first. They stupidly break to a commercial in the middle of his speech, with indicates he’s obviously voting out Melinda because of her lower weight losses. He’s right – not only are Melinda’s numbers lowest this week but the only one she’s outperformed over the whole time (Pam) is on the other team.

Post-commercial, that vote is confirmed. Amy and Marty also vote for Melinda, and they also say it kindly. What a contrast to last week! By Melinda’s lack of reactions, it is apparent the team discussed the vote beforehand. Melinda goes next and casts an inspired vote for the person she believes is the team leader, Bobby. Bobby, sitting next, cannot vote for himself, so Melinda is gone. Bobby does not show his vote but speaks kindly to Melinda as well. Could these teams be any more different?

We learn Melinda is taking home a new belief in herself. She recognizes thousands of others coveted her spot and assures us she did the best she could. Video from home indicates she has lost another 26 pounds. She says, “It’s not all about what I can hide, it’s about ‘what can I show off?’ I want the outside to reflect what’s on the inside.” She ends with, “If I’m healthy and happy like I am right now, that’s the best thing for me, living a healthy, happy life.” Photos confirm that since arriving at the ranch, Melinda has lost a total of 53 pounds, and as the show ends, we also learn she is planning a family.
