"I Thought My Personality Would Carry Me Further" – An Interview with America's Next Top Model 7's MeggPage 2View Printable version of this article RNO: You said you were playing it pretty safe during the posing challenge. Was that your strategy for the competition? Play it safe until a specific moment? Megg: I think that was the only time I really played it safe. Not to make excuses, but my stool was actually wobbling a little, and the last thing that I wanted was to fall on the floor right on my a**. That would not have been good. Any other time though, I went all out, or at least tried to! RNO: What did you feel would be your biggest asset in the competition and how did you plan on standing out from the rest of the girls? Megg: That would definitely be my personality. I’m not fake. I’m real, honest, and I never lied to anyone. I thought that I had some pretty strong facial features too, so I thought that might help me as well, but I was banking on my personality to get me far in the competition, and help me mix well with the other girls. RNO: Was it apparent, or did you realize how much Tyra was in your corner while you were in front of the panel? You seemed to be one of her favorites. Megg: Yes, I had a good feeling that they liked me. For real though, you have to have the personality because a model’s personality shows through in her pictures. I feel that if I wasn’t so off-the-wall, then maybe I would have never even made it into the house! RNO: You had mentioned that you want to start a band. Is that your focus now, or is modeling still something you are going to try and pursue? Megg: Yes, I do want to start a band, but jamming with my friends is second right now. It’s all about modeling, but I don’t want to feel like I’m limited to only one thing right now. I think that would be unfair. Maybe I’ll do both. RNO: Do you feel that you were given enough direction during the photo shoot, or were you mostly just expected what to do and how to pose, even with such little experience? Megg: I like to think that I actually work better when I’m self-directed. Look at the nude photo shoot that we did. I rocked it. It’s just easier when I have my own ideas and I try to pull off a few new things, rather than being told what to do, and wasting frames if I’m not able to pull it off, you know? RNO: So what are your plans for the immediate future? Do you have a good idea what you want to do immediately following the show? Megg: Modeling, modeling, modeling! I just have to get my face out there and make sure that people know who I am. New York, here I come! RNO: Is there anything you would like to add or say to fans of the show? Megg: Hey everyone – rock and roll! I love you all and thanks for the support! RNO: Thanks, Megg!
