“Don't Ever Go To Ecuador… At Least Don’t Go High Up!”: An Interview with The Amazing Race's Kevin & DrewPage 2View Printable version of this article RNO: So, what was your favorite moment from All-Stars? Drew: Getting eliminated! (laughs) No... I don't know. The terrain and the scenery was beautiful. They called it the Valley of the Moon and it really looked like I would imagine the moon. It was crazy, real wild-looking scenery. Kevin: That was pretty much the coolest thing we saw, because there really wasn't much else to look at. The first two legs we had in the first season – Victoria Falls, Namibia, Paris. [But in this race] Ecuador – not that there's anything wrong with Ecuador – but where they took us wasn't... there wasn't too much [there]. Drew: Yeah. RNO: If you guys were asked, would you do another Amazing Race? Drew: Yeaaahhh, probably. Kevin: But after this performance, I don't think we have to worry about being asked. Drew: Yeah, I don't think they would let me do one. Kevin: But, yeah, I would do it. I'd do it with my wife – that would be a lot of fun. Drew: With our wives it would be great. Kevin: But I couldn't yell at her the way I yell at Drew. RNO: No. Especially after she has triplets! So, what teams are you rooting for on the race? Kevin: We hope for Teri & Ian. We've gotten to know them and Ian's a nut and Teri's a real sweet lady. Danny & Oswald, we're friendly with them, so we hope that they go far also. But it's anyone's race. Rob & Amber, two in a row, that's tough to argue with. They haven't stopped anything. RNO: Were the other teams worried about Rob & Amber? Was there talk about them on the race? Kevin: There was a lot of talk about those guys. It got tiring after awhile. Everyone was running around asking where Rob & Amber were and what they were doing. I was like, “Ah! Come on guys.” Worry about what you're doing. Don't worry about what anyone else is doing. RNO: Were there any teams you wished were on the race, but weren't? Kevin: We would have loved to have Nancy & Emily with us. I still think that Rob & Brennan were the best team ever. So, I would have liked to race with them. I think Ken & Gerard were great. Drew: Yeah. Kevin: They would [have been] a lot of fun. The Clowns would have been a lot of fun. There's a lot of teams out there. Some of the teams later on, in later seasons... Drew: I think Kris & Jon should have been on. Kevin: Yeah, Kris & Jon should have been. But some of the teams in nine and there wasn't much compelling. They found all the interesting teams that want to do this. When it's all models, and actresses… It's a waste. They're just looking for yo-yos who want to be on TV for a living. The fact that a girl's got fake boobs and a guy does a hundred crunches a day makes them interesting to watch? I don't think so. RNO: I see your point. Do you talk to other teams from your season? Kevin: I talk to Brennan [of Rob & Brennan] regularly. Nancy & Emily... we talk to some of the other teams. Drew: Dave & Margareta... Kevin: We talk to Alex from Chris & Alex all the time. Yeah, we talk quite a bit. RNO: You were on the first Amazing Race, and All-Stars, and you also made a cameo on the Family Edition and you had your own little travel series, as well. Do you have any other TV plans in the works? Drew: Kevin doesn't. Kevin is going to be very preoccupied with the triplets. I didn't think I'd be doing anything else on TV, but I auditioned for a spot on a Court TV network judge show. So, I'm hoping to get that. RNO: Good luck! Drew: Thank you. RNO: What's next for you guys? I think triplets may be in one of your answers... Kevin: That will be next for me, no question. When it comes right down to it, Drew's still working in the court, I'm still working in accounting. We're doing the same things we were doing before we left for the first one. So, I don't think anything's going to change that much. RNO: Anything else you'd like to tell us about your time on The Amazing Race? Kevin: It was great to be given the opportunity to do it again. It was very flattering that everybody was rooting for us. Just the way it goes. RNO: Thank you guys! You provided a lot of entertainment for us! Kevin: Thanks, we appreciate that. Drew: Thanks!
